the clearance issue is not with the backspacing or the face of the rim to the hub. The issue is the caliper and rotor over all demsnsions will not allow a 16" rim to fit. You can only go as low as the 17" rim.

Almost any 17" or 18" Hyundai rim will work. I picked up a set of 17" wheels off of a last generation Sonata for $175 bucks on craigslist. Installed some Hankook Winter I*Pike in 235/65/17 and the setup is amazing. They definitely ride a little smoother than the 19's that came on the car. Tire prices between 16's and 17's now is minimal as well as the clearance on a 16 would be really tight depending on the rim design.

I'm waiting a quote from the dealer but I got 2-3 quotes from Tire shops and the whole kit with rims (17") is about 1200-1300$ for Toyo or Yokohama . Thanks, |

All 235/65R17 Tires | Tires Search by OEM Tire Size Pricing will depend specifically on what they are offering you in terms of tire model, and do those prices include tax? Also, are they giving you basic steel wheels, or some type of alloy? If steel, you can probably get those at Canadian Tire or elsewhere for about $80 a wheel. In terms of winter tires, I have had the Toyo Open Country G-02 plus for 3 winters on my Toyota Highlander and they are fantastic. Awesome tread life too, but they are more expensive. Some tires are softer rubber, provide excellent grip, but wear very quickly (i.e. Blizzaks). So choose based on your needs. |

Hi , I'm in Canada and I don't know if I order them from US they will add shipping and customs fees , which will come almost same as I was quoted. The dealer come back to me with 1032$+tx (Qc tx=14.95%) full kit tires+rims for GoodYear Ultragrip . From what I got is the best price for a "brand" name . They are a lot of generic "chinese" brands cheaper , but I'll stick with a brand name. Thanks . |

Thanks for that. Actually I checked it also . I know TOYO are very good as I had G-02 on 2 of my previous cars . On my wife's 2009 SF I have the Yokohama IG-20 which were good also , but on 16" . Overall below 1000$ full kit they are not too many choices. |
