Default Spotted the first LWB models...

...At Hyundai's Irvine Design Center. Not the Limited model though, as neither had rear captain's chairs.

Nothing significant to note, except that there were no front or rear LEDs (maybe reserved for the Limited?)

Was the 3rd row up? How did it look for room? I'm curious if the 2nd row will just slide as it does now, or if they have a trick like nissan's slide and glide if there is a toddler seat in the 2nd row and you want to access the 3rd.

Is it confirmed that they will have a path between the captains chairs to walk to the 3rd row or is that something I was just wishing for?

Nice job spotting this! I am pretty sure thay Hyundai removed the LED DRLs and tail lights on ALL American Sante Fe models, including the LWB model. This is very dissapointing. I was going to buy a LWB, fully loaded... I cannot justify purchasing a 40k Limited model that has no HID's, no LED DRL's, and no LED tail lights. This is very dissapointing. Most SUV's in this size, and price range have many more tech features... atleast let it be in a special package so we can pay to have these features without risking our warranty coverage by installing aftermarket parts. Even crazier is the fully loaded Kia Sorento based on the last gen Santa Fe can have LED tail lights, AND led cup holders, cooled seats etc. Only way Hyundai can justify this is to release a Luxury high end SUV/CUV, and this is their way of pushing buyers up the ladder. I still wouldn't agree with it, but would understand their logic.

3rd row seats were down, but the cargo area looked quite spacious. Will have to wait and see regarding 3rd row access.

As you may be aware, parts of the world that won't get the LWB version do still get a 7-seat version of the Sport.

If the LWB uses the same access mechanism to the 3rd row as the RoW 7-seat 2013 Sport, it's going to become a total sales flop - the 2nd row only slides, no tilt, and with front seats set for adults there's no room to slide the 2nd row forward to access the 3rd row.

The result is that passengers have to clamber over the 2nd row seats to get in the 3rd row.

Not quite sure this always pops up as a question or concern here, at least for the USA models, as It's been posted in multiple places. Here's the info from Hyundai's site:

Quote:
Two interior designs. One goal.
As usual, our goal is to make sure you get what you want. And to make that happen, you can select the 7-passenger Santa Fe GLS or choose the Santa Fe LIMITED, and get seating for 6 that includes two very luxurious captain’s chairs for the crew members that are lucky enough to pull second-row duty.
Source: https://www.hyundaiusa.com/vehicles/...features2.aspx

So yeah, depending on the trim level, you will be able to get a 6 or 7 passenger configuration.

If you got this from my link, that's just the USA site. Remember there are major feature differences with the SF Sport when compared to the Canadian models. Maybe the lift gate WILL be an option up north?

Default Santa Fe LWB Pictures

I was just browsing through the Hyundainews site with all the Santa Fe pics:

Newsroom - Hyundai Motor America

I noticed new pictures of a what I would call a gun metal gray Santa Fe that has a larger rear window. I believe this is the LWB.

A few pictures down is the captains chairs which look very nice and well bolstered:

There are lots of interior shots on the above link including ones of the 115V power outlet, what I assume is the rear heating/cooling controls, power liftgate, captains chairs folded down, 3rd row seats, etc...
