But I take issue with the design. Specifically, the mat does not extend UNDERNEATH the gas pedal. So, the snow and slush (with sand and salt mixed in) on my boot in the winter is going to rub off onto the pedal, melt and run down past the mat onto the carpet. I realize that the pedal design may be limiting in terms of allowing a mat to run in behind it, but I suspect something could be done...a small lip perhaps that extends a bit under the pedal?

Given I would only use these in the winter (i use carpetted mats in the summer), and the primary functionality is compromised by this design, I will be looking for another option for winter....of course presuming one becomes available. Weathertech perhaps?
The gas pedal is mounted to the floor so how would you get a mat lip to go "under" it. It has been a while since I have seen a gas pedal mounted like that. I just checked 3 of my 5 vehicles and they have the gas pedal mounted to lever system so that the pedal "hangs" from it and does not touch the floor. If it was like that then I would certainly see your point but the way it is currently mounted I do not see an easy solution.

Just got a quote from Weathertech today of $169.99 for front AND back as opposed to $179 AND $129 for front and back ,thats a bit of a price difference,do like the looks though but a bit pricey for something thats going to get weathered down anyway

I found the US version of the all-weather mats on Amazon...see the left pic. I think I found a link to the Canadian version at the mats here (see pic on right):
Hyundai Santa Fe Accessories

The pic at the link I posted is small, but it looks like they're the same ones that Messter posted. Seems to be front mats only and their pricey ($175 at this website).

By the way, I've emailed Hyundai in Canada to see if these "liners" are only available there or if we can get them in the US.

Ok, I just found out that for a full Weathertech's kit, here in Canada it costs me 81$ more!! (based on Santa Fe 2012's price) That is just crazy! US = 289.85$ VS 370.85$ for CA!! From my point of view, paying the extra 60$ was tolerable since the weathertech's are still not available. Buying regular rubber carpet wasn't an option. And now that I've seen how the Hyundai's are, I wouldn't even think of buying the Weathertech's!! After all, I love my car and it simply deserves the best!!

Ok back to reality, this carpet is a lot more rigid and it fits really tightly. If it gets full of melting snow, I just can't figure out how the **** I'm going to remove it without spilling everything inside the car . I guess I'll see in time!

True, the gas pedal's design is far from useful (except for driving I suppose). I don't think it was designed for our kind of weather. Anyways, a carpet that will go around enough close to prevent water going under it could possibly be a threat to the pedal's mechanism. I wouldn't trust that. I guess we'll have to live with it!

In the end, I'm really happy with my purchase!

Agree with you Messter. I remember seeing the pedal mechanism and thought to myself "WTF??" But I couldn't remember how tight or how much room there might be for a matt to go under the pedal. Well, that just sucks.

I am super anal about keeping my car clean and in top shape so this just bugs the cr@p out of me. Presuming I get myself a LWB early next year, I will have to figure something out. Perhaps my only option will be to keep an old cotton rag tight to the bottom of the pedal, and under the mat, to absorb any snow etc off the pedal and swap it out frequently. Of course, it will have to be flat enough so as not to interfere with pedal movement.

for someone who does not own a Santa fe you seem to know more about it than someone who owns one. That is impressive! I will be honest mats are important but nit picking about it wrapping around the gas pedal that is a first world problem! LOL

p.s. I love my car so much, instead of buying winter mats. I'm taking it to Florida for the winter.
I'll report back my MPG at various speeds and temperatures along the way.

I'm trying to install my (rubber) all weather 2013 Hyundai SF mats that I got from the dealership and I can't get them in. I can't get the hook through the hook hole. The rubber is too thick.

Anyone have any tips?

I got a set of rubber floor mats at Costco less than 20 bux for my 2013 Santa Fe Had to trim down the drivers side. Good looking mats.
I now have to change my profile picture from the 2007 to the 2013.

The directions said to rotate the plugs to line up with the hooks (or something along those lines). Mine were already lined up so I didn't need to rotate them.

I actually just reinstalled mine after washing them today. All I needed to do was line the hole up with the hook, elevate the mat just forward of the slotted plug, and push down on the mat behind the plug and it snaps onto the hook. It's hard to describe, but when you feel it snap in, you'll know how the others go.
