Hey all, I just picked up my Santa Fe from the dealer on 10/19/12 after waiting for 3 weeks for it to arrive. All of the others 2013 Santa fes have Continental tires and that's even what hyundai advertises them as having, but mine came with Kuhmo Solus tires. These tires are noticeably different as far as noise and drivability, do you think I have a valid complaint if I contact Hyundai with this issue to try to get the other tires? What tires did your 2013 come with?
Thanks. |

I thought the 2.4 was to come with 17" Hankook tires, and the 2.0T 19" Continental tires. John |

What does the sticker say should be on it? If the sticker says "Conti tires" you have a valid complaint, they owe you 4 new tires. If you end up keeping the Kumho tires, you should plan on buying 4 new tires in the next 2 years, depending on miles.

The window sticker for my car does not indicate the brand of tires. The relevant line on the sticker reads: "17-inch Alloy Wheels & P235/65R17 tires." Furthermore, the model number of the vehicle (in my case, 63402F45) is the same for models with both Continental and Kumho tires. There may be a pattern to which tire is installed, but I have not been able to figure it out. Your best bet is to look at the tires before buying. |

I wouldn't get too worried about not receiving Continental tires (my 2.4L Sport came with them---so good-so far) as they have mediocre reviews on most tire sites with defects, short life, and vibrations./belt problems. We will see. On the other hand, I have had good luck in the past with a couple of sets of Kumho replacement tires on a Maxima and Altima. YMMV Continental*CrossContact LX |

Kuhmo tires have always been decent tires. I would look at some reviews for the exact Kuhmo tire that you have but If it was me I would not worry.

State you case to you salesman or dealer and take another test drive with their Continental's, and then compare your Kumho's.
Drive the exact same roads and see if you notice a difference. Hope this helps. |
