Wow, this ticks me off. Why on earth would Hyundai not include roof rails on the panoramic sunroof here in Canada, where every Tom, Dick, and Harry puts a canoe or kayak on the roof? Frustrating! At least they off a set of add-on crossbars here unlike the US.
Also pissed about the memory seats/mirrors. I wonder if it's possible to retrofit that system into our SFS's?

Re: new Santa Fe's "Blindspot"
It's not really a conventional blind spot that most drivers should be aware of, ie. the one directly to your left between driver side door and the mirror. No, this is a blind spot that only comes into play when you are backing up. In other words people screaming that Hyundai should have included blind spot monitoring in the mirrors don't know what they are talking about. The blind spot monitoring systems that warn you about a car in the mirror or as a HUD warning wouldn't do anything in this case. Now, about the whole backing up business. I live in Brooklyn, NY. I parallel park my Santa Fe Sport 5-6 times a day (on the days when I use it), and the tolerances in my neighborhood are somewhat tight. This "blind spot" has yet to bother me. I simply do a quick glimpse into my left mirror before I start backing up and viola - no blind spot. Is it really so hard to do this? |

what did mama say, 'never assume anything...'? didn't realize how much I used that bugger, I just assumed it had one.
MyBlueLink is way better than Onstar, but still not sold on it's consistency and ease of use. I thought the missing power liftgate was going to bum me out, used to on my suburban, but it's such a small door and well balanced, it's probably quicker to use without, and surprisingly not bumming me out. living in big three country, i get a lot of '****, that's a nice car' from friends shaking their heads. For a $30k vehicle, there are tradeoffs when you're trying to luxurize it. Only 2.5k in, but this vehicle still holds the best value proposition for me (styling, features, warranty, performance, mpg), by far. |

1- noise of the A/C ducts.
2- outer noise sealant 3- get in and out is difficult. 4- blind spot is huge 5- no TV Tuner. 6- no full loaded passenger electric seat. 7- no safety stopper for rear and passenger window 8- horn sound 9- frequently gear shifting between the 5th and the 6th gear if cruised on high speed due to air resistant |

I was kinda relieved that the SFS has a HONK HONK North American horn and not one of those BEEP BEEP Japanese/European horns.

Oh thank you. First thing I did on my Highlander was swap the annoying beep beep horns with some real deep truck-like horns. The ironic thing was, the deeper more powerful horns came of a Camry. Go figure. Someone over in Japan obviously did not think that through very well.
