New to the forum. Just purchased my Santa Fe and I'm also having the same problem described here with bluetooth. At exactly 15 minutes I can no longer hear the caller even though they can hear me. I figured it was a software problem that probably wouldn't be fixed until the next update for the system is out.

How do we get updates? And how do we know there is an update available?

I have the same problem with my 2013 Elenatra. I have found that if you take the i-phone and change the media output back to phone, and then back to the elenatra, it works again. It seems to cut off at exactly 15 minutes, so whenever there's complete silence, time to check the phone. If you find any resolution, please let us know. Thanks! |

Updates are usually handled by the dealership after a service bulletin is sent. I'm not certain if they occur with any frequency other than when problems arise. The only way I even know about the updates is from when my wife received a bulletin to take her car in to the dealer for an update to blue link.

ok now for something completely different, I have a 2012 Sante Fe, my bluetooth system worked quite happily for three months, pairing 3 different phones, I phone, Nokia and a Samsung Ace, then suddenly nothing, I have reset to factory settings but still nothing paired, I search for a phone on the SF and it will quite happily find it, but when I try to pair it, it will get a "insert passkey on device" message but none of my phones can see the SF so hence nothing comes up on the phone to install passkey, I have tried changing the passkey on the SF just in case, but to no avail. So I tried with Ipad, nothing..so thats three different phones (that used to work) and the IPad and no bluetooth pairing, anyone got any ideas?

Not yet, but I plan on talking to the dealer about it when I bring it in for the 1st service check. Very strange problem! Despite this, and the other minor issues I've noticed, I still absolutely love the Santa Fe, and I'm very glad we chose it!

Wanted to post a quick work around for the Bluetooth issue. I found that once you hit the 15 minute mark instead of disconnecting the call and redialing the contact you can hit the Private Call button on the bottom of the touchscreen which will switch the call to your phone. After that hit Handsfree button and you can hear the person again. I now keep an eye on call length and as soon as I hit the 15 minute mark I toggle Private call and back to Handsfree which takes a few seconds and I'm back in business.
I'm close to my first service inspection, so when I take my Santa Fe into the dealer I'll report the Bluetooth issue as well. |
