We have had our SF turbo for 6 months now - still have wind noise at the front windows - both sides, extremely loud on passenger side, and at any speed. We have had the vehicle in to service numerous times and have had seals replaced on all windows, side mirrors replaced, etc. We not have a bug deflector. The local service guys at the Evansville Hyundai are amazing - very helpful and are trying their best to find the problem - but to no avail thus far.... This is very frustrating as the last thing you want to hear when driving a brand new loaded $$$$ SUV down the road is wind noise as if all the windows are cracked.... We have copied all of the previous suggestions from others and have taken them into our local service department as well as filed a complaint with Hyundai to get "on the book" so to speak. Please keep the suggestions coming....we are at a loss and very disappointed....other than this issue, we are very happy with the SF!

I was thinking the same thing this morning driving in to work,
"They think I'll get used to the wind noise and stop complaining about it"
... I'm thinking this is a design flaw not a service guy issue. I wish I knew of someone at Hyundai that would drive my SF and hear it for themselves.

I took my Limited LWB on a couple 2 hours trips. It's quieter than my Sonata SE. I haven't noticed any extreme amounts of wind noise.

Do you have all the suggestions compiled in a single document? I'm suffering from the wind noise problem and would like to take a list of suggestions to the dealer.

The Part Number is: 013DP00031 (Made in Canada); the one described by CUMan may be a better one (P/N 4Z024ADU00).

I took it back to the parts store where I bought it and they did not want to take it back because the package was opened. I told them I wouldn't return it if it wasn't noisy but they kept telling me that nobody complained so far and I should have it installed in their service shop. I'm sure I followed the instructions and there is not much you can do wrong.
Anyway, I'm glad I found that I'm not the only one with these issues so I'm going back to the dealership with new info. Thanks.
I have seen a few sfs now that we removed the hood protector , drove it and voilą !!! noise gone

I think most hood protecters wrap under the edge of the hood , this design does not do that . there is abit of a gap .

I would not say the wind noise goes away. In my case, my hood deflector created a whistling sound (consistently) at various speeds. I had it taken off and the whistling did go away; however, the wind noise from the side mirrors (??) was still present.

As I stated in an earlier post, my hood deflector was replaced with a supposedly newer design and does appear to stay closer to the hood with less gap. My whistling noise is reduced quite a bit but not completely eliminated. I do hear a faint whistling at higher speed, but when I am driving alone and with the radio/music turned off.

I was at my dealership this week and spoke with the service manager to ask about wind noise. His first question was what I used to drive (VW Passat wagon) and he says that his wife drives that and he drives a SFS--I thought that was a bit funny. However, he said when comparing the two, the Passat is much quieter.

I am now resigning myself to the fact I am now driving a TRUCK and not a CAR and will have to put up with some wind noise.

The first thing they tried were new side mirrors - no change. They then added foam inside the seals that are around each window/door - both drivers side and passenger side, which worked very little. They then replaced the seals on both windows which made it worse. It is a constant noise at any speed - sounds as if the windows are cracked. We have never had a bug deflector installed so that is not our problem. The windshield has been check for cracks, none. There is definitely an issue that Hyundai is now aware of so I would suggest that you contact your service manager and sales manager to resolve the issue. I am thrilled to say that The Duells Evansville Hyundai has stepped up to the plate for the customer and are taking excellent care of this customer as well as Hyundai Corporation! I cannot go into detail just yet as things are "still in the works" but am happy to say that a resolution is in the works for us. Good luck to you as well! The SF is a great car and other than this issue we have been pleased with its performance.

I have my 2.0T limited for about week and took it for a spin on the highway doing between 60 and 70 mph on a windy day. I did hear wind noise and I expected to hear it tell you the truth. I've not been in one vehicle yet to date where I have not heard wind noise because of the mirrors. Even my 2010 Camry has wind noise around the mirrors.

I understand it is not pertaining to noise coming from side mirrors

But I thought of sharing with you all.

Reducing over-all wind noise:

After every carwash, I use Meguiar's Endurance Tire Dressing on tires (one can use any tire dressing ) and I spray on a piece of cloth and apply the same on all the door, trunk and hood rubber gaskets.

This was recommended to me by BMW service manager back in 2007. According to him, it keeps the rubber gaskets soft, clean from dust, which in return seals better. And it works for me at least to reduce wind noise. It is not sound proof but........

I have used this method for every car I owned. Hope will help others too.

As a side note: I do get a faint wind noise near the side mirrors but hardly noticeable and varies from concrete road to tar road. Haven't driven on dirt road yet but will be soon.
