Hi,
Signed up just to see if anyone else out there has had similar issues to the ones im having and if so, are there any fixes. My boss bought an iLoad in late 09 for my work vehicle (i work with hydraulics etc and its set up as a mobile service/hose van). Due to the amount of shelving and weight of stock i carry, its been overloaded by about 200kgs right from day one. This however hasn't caused any problems and ive been impressed by how its taken everything, even now its clocked up over 100,000kms. Only precautions taken with the weight were triple height bump stops on the diff, which are slowly becoming compressed. Anyway on with the issues- 1. At about 80,000kms my passenger door lock actuator started seizing up and only locking/unlocking about 10% of the time and is still doing it now. Pulled the door trim off to see if i could lubricate any linkages etc, but it seems the motor in the actuator assembly has lost all power. Rarely do i have passengers, but accessing that side on a job is becoming annoying. Is the only option to buy a new actuator? Oh and the passenger sliding door has done it on a couple of occasions too. 2. Right from day one its had starting problems. Because its being stopped and started all day, regularly it has the issue of not firing, which seems to be an immobilizer issue. It will turn over but not fire and the "key" dash light is lit up. Originally i tried a lot of different things to fix it when it was happening but couldn't work out something that worked every time until a few months ago. Appears that giving the underside of the steering column a solid knock or two sorts it straight out. Loose connection in there maybe? The Hyundai tech who did the 10,000k service had never heard of it... 3. Again, right from day one its had an annoying habit of locking itself when the keys are in the cab. If i unlock it, get in and have the keys on my lap while im putting things down, within 15 seconds it locks itself. Doesn't do it if the keys are in the ignition or you walk away from it. Seems like its working the opposite way to a proximity locking system (which i doubted an iLoad would have....). Knew the day would come when the keys got locked in it and surely enough, last night they did. Luckily it was pretty easy to break into.. Other than those 3 issues, ive been pretty happy with how its performed especially given the price in comparison to the other contenders we looked into. Amazed that the engine and drive train has coped with the load and the large disc brakes bring it to a stop with ease. (unfortunately my printer mounted on the cargo barrier and everything else in the cabin can't take the stopping and ends up in the dashboard haha). Engine could still do with some more compression for a bit more power and to allow SOME compression braking at least |

The third one, the alarm system in them will re-arm or lock the doors again if a door isn't opened after about 30 seconds. Seems like the alarm system hasn't recognized that the door hasn't been opened. They detect the door is opened by the interior light switch on the doors. 1 philips head screw driver, remove the switch and see if the wiring and switch operates correctly.
The other issues.... I have no ideas. Is it a petrol or diesel? |

As retro says the doors re-lock if no door is opened in 30 seconds. I didn't know this was sensed by the interior light but if you haven't already tested it on the 2012 i800 there is an overide switch for the rear door courtesy lights near the fog light switch, it may effect any results you get.
Is for getting the courtesy lights down, best of luck. Mine were a right pita. Lever from the switch side as there are plastic lugs the other side that will break off otherwise. There are spring metal clips which will most likely catch the rooflining and bend backwards, but you can bend them back into shape before refitting. |
