Has alone noticed the plastic around the center console creaks a lot with pressure and movement (the piano black type in the premium)? I find this disappointing in what is otherwise a well made interior.
Is their a fix ie. foam padding or an anti-squeak spray? |

Anywhere there is plastic rubbing against plastic, there will be squeaking.
Many years ago, with my Hyundai Scoupe Turbo, this problem was very bad, around doors and some dash panels. I fixed it by removing door panels, then taking appart every single plastic-to-plastic assembly (door handles, speaker grills, etc), then applying a very thin layer of black silicone RTV to all the "contact" surfaces. Let dry for a couple of hours then put everything back again. My Scoupe Turbo turned into a high end limo... not a single squeak, crack or pop coming from anything plastic inside. In my terracan, I had the same problem, but only on the power window switch panels on the front doors. I did the same and "voilá", no more creaking... In your case, you can try to remove the "offending" piece of plastic, taking care not to scratch it. Make sure that is not bolted or screwed from behind. Then apply a very thin layer of black silicone RTV and let dry for a couple of hours. then put it back again. The idea is NOT to glue both parts with the RTV silicone. Rather, is to make a thin soft "gasket" where parts come in contact with each other. With some care, you can apply the RTV silicone even around very thin edges without leaving marks or smears that show.

No creaks or noises anywhere in interior of premium sedan. Also have driven a tourer which was equally silent.
Would seem to indicate something misassembled in your vehicle. Frustrating but may be worth taking console apart to find the source. |
