Default just go a 2013 Accent GLS!!

Purchased a 2013 Accent GLS with premium package in marathon blue on sunday, and so far i love it!! Not my first hyundai my wife has a 2013 elantra. Both cars are of great quality and are great on gas. My only complaint about the accent is when i turn on the headlights the instrument cluster dims, this doesnt happen in my wifes elantra. Other than that the accent is a very good car!!

Rotate the wheel by the eco & traction control buttons all the way up & it will minimize the amount it dims when you turn on your headlights. I tend to turn mine all the way dim at night because the blue light coming off the stereo is distracting & turn it up during the day if I'm running the lights.

No sunroof... It's turned all the way up. Just seems odd because my wife's elantra doesn't do that. I like the gauges bright, guess ill just have to get used to it. I came from a 2002 sentra se-r spec v, so there is a power deficit with the accent but its not too bad. The ride comfort extra amenities and the mpg more than make up for it!! Ordered LED lights for the map, dome, and trunk. Can't wait to get them and instal them!!

Congratulations on the new wheels... Welcome to the forum!!

Strange on the dash lights... I've never owned a car that didn't dim the dash when the headlights came on. (I have three other vehicles right now and they all do it.). I've even installed a couple of aftermarket stereos that had a wire you connected to the dash light wiring so the stereo display would dim when you turned the lights on.

And to SteveU .. You can turn off the radio light by tapping the little 'Disp' button to the right of the CD slot.. It saves having a blue flashlight pointed at your eyes when you're on a dark highway at night with no street lights.

Welcome to the forum!

The dash dims a little to prevent glare at night. Funny how you like the dash brighter than it is. I find it very bright at times and need to rotate the wheel down in dark areas haha

Sweet, will make the hour+ drive on the highway at night much more pleasant

My dash lights didn't turn on during the day in my sentra and it has red gauges, always seemed kind of dim to me. Lovedy wife's elantra for the fact the gauges are so bright. Hopefully someone finds a way to change the brightness for the accent. Ordered LED map, some, trunk, and license plate lights. Also ordered mud guards, still debating if I should look into the rear cup holders. Can't wait to install all that stuff!!!

Guess it's just something ill have to get used to. Oh well!! Got my license plate LED's today from percision LED. They are great very white nor like the cheap ones on eBay that have a blue tint to them. Looks like the stock ones from a Lexus.
