Default Blackberry 9810 Bluetooth Issues

having some issues with the bluetooth in my new '13 Accent GLS. I have a Blackberry 9810. I pair them together, and everything works fine. Next time I start the car, they will pair up together again. HOWEVER, after about 4-5 times starting the car, it says "Pairing Failed" on the Accent. This will continue everytime I start the car until I pair them again... This happens over and over again.

Is anyone here running a BB Torch 9810 or similar? I want to check the some settings... Should Device Settings have encryption set 'On' or 'Off'? Should trusted be set to 'Yes' or 'Silent'? Also, there is encryption in General Settings, I assume this must match the value for Device Settings.

Is there anything else I might be missing?

I'm running a Torch 9810 in my Elantra GT and have never had any issues. I don't think it has to do with encryption, though I have mine turned off... The only thing I could think of is that your Torch isn't being discovered. Triple check that your BT is discoverable on your device.

I've got an earlier 9800 Torch slider phone... For properties, I have:

Device Name -- ACCENT
Trusted -- Yes
Encryption -- Checked On
Echo Control -- Automatic

It's never given me a problem. I've been using it for 8 months now and it's never failed to sync when I've hopped in the car with it..

As CanuckElantraGT points out, it might be worth checking to see if the "BT Discoverable" option is set to YES.. (There are three options: No, 2 Minutes, and Yes). Mine is set to Yes.

Hmmm... I have ALL the same settings as you jwt. On a Blackberry forum, I read that encryption had to be turned off, but that just made it work worse, and it did not connect the very next time I started the car.

I'm starting to think it may have to do with the operating software version. I am running OS 7.1 Bundle 921 (v7.1.0.267). Blackberry forum leads me to believe that Hyundai is aware of compatibility issues with this OS.

Unless your Accent is running different BlueTooth software (which is unlikely), I don't know what the problem is. I checked my Torch's software, and we're running the same OS, bundle and version, and I've not had any issues whatsoever... I'm at a loss now... Sounds to me like it may be the particular software in the Accents. Is there an option to go to the Dealer and see if there's a software update for the Bluetooth system?

My older Torch has 6.0 Bundle 2921, so the OS might have something to do with it...

FWIW, the Bluetooth version of my radio is: "3.1.3.6 ACCENT" .. The instructions on finding your radio's Bluetooth version is here ---> Radio Hidden Menus

Here's what I get:

The dealership is just 2 minutes from work, I could do that at lunch sometime... But they usually look at me like I have two heads when I ask questions like that I wonder if I can check things like that on this website...

Ok, I checked the BT version, and it is the same, "3.1.3.6 ACCENT". I have tried with encryption on and off, I have tried with trusted set to yes and silent. Yet, I still have the same problem.

I guess my next step will be to call RIM technical support. If that doesnt work, then back to the dealer...

This is very perplexing... I would certainly give RIM a ring, and maybe go to the dealer and call from there?
