the stock tint windows we get

what % are they? i have some tinted black windows on my car that came with my GLS 2012, does anybody know any information about these?

do u think i could apply more tint if i wanted to? will it work?

edit: ps. i live in So. Cal.
but feel free to talk about ur states limitations, because i dont know them all.

Did you buy your car used? Mine didn't come with factory tint and neither did my friend's. I got an aftermarket 35% tint for mine, though.

Same here... no factory tint but I got 35% all around (except the windshield)

Our cars do not come with any factory tint. In CA, you are not allowed to tint your front windows. You can go as dark as you want for the rear sides and rear. I THINK you can tint 4 or 6 inches of the front windshield. In Los Angeles, police don't really care about front tints. Everyone does it. Just like HIDs lol

You can always apply darker tint. You would have to remove your existing tint though.

The sticker on mine said tinted windows. They had no tint when I bought it. I assume that since every state is different with tint laws, it's up to the dealers to do it. Mine has 5% out back, 25% up front. Not bad at all

My Elantra came with solarglass which cuts uv and heat and is a very light tint as a result. You can only really tell if you compare directly to another car with no tint and normal glasd. I think your cars must have similar.

The shop where I got a full tint said that solarglass would add about 5% and since the limit for fronts was 25 the lowest they could install was 30. It passed inspection so I guess they were right.

That is the old law. If you go to California's DMW, the law has changed

According to the California DMV's website: "(1) The material has a minimum visible light transmittance of 88 percent."

So... UV coating would be okay

my car came with tint and it had 200 miles on it. idk y ur guy's didn't come with tint if it said so on the ticket. i dont think the dealer would of installed it, i mean why?
as far as im concern about tinting in cali. very back dont matter. back side windows, as tinted u want (no orange or yellow anywhere). for the driver just enough where the police could see through. and the windshield, 3 inches on top.
i read this somewhere. Must of been an old article.
