You haven't gotten it yet, right? Maybe the dealer's finding he can't swing that deal.

Hopefully you'll get it, but all that stuff about counting chickens, eggs hatching...

Hey I was worried about that too, but was called yesterday and told, "We have secured your Accent and will find out tomorrow when it will be delivered." So pretty sure I'm okay at this point. But hey, there's always room for error!

Also found out today that I qualify for a $400 College Grads rebate (got my M.S. in 2011) so confirmed with the dealer today that it knocks what I owe down to 15,400.

Great! Have you called them again today?

Dealers do it everyday...when it's advantagous.
Mine was a dealer swap, dealer did not have car I wanted, so swapped one of his Accents with another dealer for Accent model and color I wanted about 50 miles away. Took two hours.

Yep waiting for them to call me back to tell me when it'll be here to pick up... Hoping for the next couple of days, but who knows. Fingers crossed.

Nice Mickey, they let YOU do the swap personally? Figured they'd use an employee to swap the cars. Of course 50 miles is different than 400 but still.

Figures... The dealership they "secured" my car from sold it out from under them. Didn't even tell them until their driver got there to pick it up. Not cool at all.

Next closest is 300 miles away. My dealer was trying to get me to pick a different color, saying that it would be an 8-10 hour drive. I mapped it and its a 6 hour drive according to Google maps. I asked if I could even pick it up and they said no, something about insurance.

He's going to talk to their dealer trade guy again in the morning to try and figure something out. Told them I'd hate for the deal to fall apart and have to deal with the other dealer directly. Major bummer.

There's always the possibility the other dealership never agreed to anything. Or, agreed to something your salesman couldn't deliver.

All you're hearing is what your salesman is telling you.

When buying a car, don't believe anything unless you see it yourself or they put it in writing. Frequently these guys are like Red Fox on the '70s TV show Sanford and Son: "Who you gonna believe, me or your lying eyes?"

That doesn't include any rebates, but I will get $400 in college grad rebate.

This is frustrating... Dealer still hasn't lined up a red one. Told them Marathon Blue was my second choice, but I think they are equally hard to find.

Thing is, if I went with Ultra Black, I could probably have it tomorrow because there are so many. I've owned a black car in the past though and aside from being scorching hot in the summer it was a huge pain to keep clean. It is still a little tempting...

If you did get black, would you guys go for the gray or black interior? I can hardly tell the difference from pics on the web.

Mine took 9 weeks to come in, but mine is a different story...

On July 16th, I ordered a '13 Accent GLS (Canadian trim) A/T in Century White. At the time, there were NONE built with that configuration. I had to wait for the plant to build it and ship it over from Korea. I was originally told 6-8 weeks for delivery, but it actually took 9 weeks and arrived on September 17th.
