Angry Rattle in Passenger Side Dash Area

I'm starting to be a little annoyed with a rattle in the passenger side dash area. I looked around to check if there was anything obvious, but I couldn't find anything...

I sometimes get that noise while driving over bumps, but oddly, I usually tend to get it when I accelerate and get the engine at a specific RPM (like some sort of resonance frequency issue?!?).

Does anyone know what could cause this?

Same in my 2012 Accent SE.

Thought it might be the glovebox but not sure. Haven't asked the dealer about it yet.

I had this issue before but it was around the back seat. Turns out my car had a loose hose and they tightened it up for me. Have your dealer fix it

A rattle or squeak would drive me crazy.. I'd be banging my fist in that area trying to make it stop

On the passenger side dash area, I'd suspect the glove compartment.. Perhaps the hinges? I think the only thing you can do is pull everything apart and see what's loose or rubbing. If all else fails, as krazeaznboy suggests, take it to the dealer. It's covered by warranty.

It may be the passenger side seat belt buckle hitting the plastic by the seat.

I had the same problem, it turned out to be a loose clip on a plastic guard/tray that you have to remove to access the cabin filter.

Agreed. I removed one of the two glovebox "stoppers" and most of the rattle has gone away. One will hold the glovebox in place just fine, but I'm going to ask the dealer for a replacement the next time I'm there.

Thanks for posts. Haven't had rattles yet. Worse cannot get 2013 Accent SE inspected at all since buying it in August 2012. The dealer I went to LA Hyundai at LAX, Inglewood, California refused me service and called the police to get me and the car off the lot. See youtube channel legaladvocate71. Corporate would not help either. I sued the dealer and HMA for "concerted failure to provide warranty service and public accommodation; no anti-discrimination policy" and "did not honor [warranty] rights." I had also included a previous 2010 Accent which had a vibration that the dealer refused to fix. The court Inglewood Small Claims California case 12S01314 agreed and awarded me $724 not because I actually got the mounts fixed but for the money I spent trying to diagnose the problem. Hopefully this case will help others. I would stay away from the Better Business Bureau Auto line because they are paid for by the automakers and therefore will not be neutral and unbiased. I still have to get the 2013 inspected because the idle seems not smooth to me; too much motor mount play; vibration in steering wheel with AC turned on, and of course bad gas mileage. Very rough road feel with the low profile tires at 70 psi so I reduced PSI to 35 and much better. Perfect though at 25 psi so I will replace the tires. Hyundai has very bad customer service.

The recommended tire pressure is 32 psi and max pressure is 44 psi. Why did you have it at 70 psi?
