Default Traction control, do you use it?

Hello, I'm just wondering how often people use traction control button.

I tried having both on and off and I didn't feel any difference.
I guess I will have it on for sure when the road is slippery
but I'm curious if others have it on all the time.

Many years ago I was quite competitive in car rallies. I tried hard to get my Accent out of shape on a nasty, twisty, rough, badly cambered dirt road and although the EBS light on the dashboard was blinking like crazy the car held on extremely well. Very impressive indeed. I have it switched on all the time.

I use it almost all of the time. Never know when it will be needed in an emergency. It works a lot better than earlier versions from the 1990s and is mostly "transparent".

I have found that it can interfere with spirited driving on dry, paved roads when trail braking. With FWD, the fast way around some corners, i.e. a high speed on ramp, is to drag the brakes, reducing traction to the rear end and allowing a drift. If TC is engaged the engine will bog.

Not done all the time, we're on public roads here.

I had trouble driving up my brothers steep gravel driveway pulling a trailer.
I turned the traction control switch off and got past the rough spot!

Mostly, I have the traction control on.

i leave my Traction Control on with 1 exception, pulling into my driveway during rush hour.

i had my traction control on once when i did this, if i accelerate "too quickly" to take a hole in traffic off the main road into to my driveway and a wheel squeaks the car pulls all power away from me for a couple seconds and i run the risk of getting t-boned, so i shut it off before i make the turn and all is OK.

Can someone explain how to turn off traction control? I can't find the answer anywhere. I thought I saw everything there is to see on the dashboard.

i don't know if it is the same on the US model as it is on the canadian model, but to the left of the steering wheel on the dash you should have a pane of boxes allowing up to 6 buttons to be there (depending on features that came with your car) one of these will be a picture of a car with squiggly lines coming out behind it. push that button, a light will light up on your HUD in between the engine temp & gas level with the same picture and the word "OFF" under it. your traction control is now off.

i noticed the car only allows me to enable / disable traction control if the car is fully stopped so do this when the car isn't moving otherwise it likely wont do anything at all.

push again to enable traction control once again.

It will be the button right of your eco button.

Oh okay, that's the Electronic Stability Control. I guess it's the same thing as Traction Control. I turn it off when I start the car

The manual says to hold the button for half a second when starting the car to turn it off. I guess it'll work as long as you're stopped. Don't see a reason to turn it off in motion.

And manual-equipped Accents don't have the eco button.

Strange... I can enable/disable traction control when my car is in motion.
