The operative phrase is "Reserve not met". In other words, the dealer has set a minimum selling price which is hidden and has not yet been reached.

There is no end to the gimmicks car dealers use to generate buzz

So sticker is $28K and they said they put $8700 into the car. Does that mean they will sell a 2013 Elantra Limited for $19K???

Yeah, right, you know that's gonna happen! If they don't get their reserve, they will relist it and/or feature it in the Sunday classifieds, or both.

With that type of "add-on" dollars put into that car, you can bet your bottom dollar that every person that drives onto the lot will get walked around that car. Even if it's just for an oil filter, they're gonna be shown that car.

I wonder what the special incentive commission is to the salesman that unloads it?

I don't know who would buy this for $28K!!! So many superior cars out there for that price. Its slow first of all, has an auto tranny and will forever be an economy car. I don't think anyone can argue otherwise.

Some little girl is gonna receive it from daddy and mommy as an early graduation present. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I may have done the same thing for my boys when they were graduating, had his mother and I had that kind of disposable income.

As it was, they both got part-time jobs after school, saved their money, and bought some pretty decent beaters to use on dates and running around! And then there was the father-son times we shared under the hoods, or under the chassis, replacing all kinds of neat stuff. Good times...less revisited but well-remembered!!!

I wouldn't have objected to a new car from my folks, but looking at it now that I'm older I do think that I enjoyed working on my old car and getting Dad's help fixing it up more. No fun having a warranty and letting someone else work on the thing... I have lots of memories working with Dad on that old car. I should call him up and see if he wants to have some father/son bonding time and help me put brakes and shocks on mine.

And when you're done, you two come on down and help me do mine when needed, okay? We're talking a "real man bonding moment."

Women go shopping together. and to bathrooms together, stuff like that. We perform manly, death-defying acts! It's in our DNA. Our culture and our right to pass it along to our sons.

The dealer is in GA.

Here it's illegal to have more than 30% on any of the windows except if factory tinted on SUVs.
