Thanks for the welcome! Yeah, but it all worked out in my favor. The 2012 actually had hail damage all over it and they didn't even make me repair it before taking it and giving me this one .

Wow that looks very sharp. I'm jealous. I'm too afraid to go that dark on my windshield and front doors.

Gamer guy front and back would be great. I'm looking to make my decision by months end but the shop here only has a demo against a light and it isn't very helpful compared to our nearly identical cars

While the car looks really nice, having tint on the front just seems dangerous, ie nighttime driving in inclement weather or fog.

You also have to consider if you ever plan on driving in other states and what their laws are. Here in Alabama, it's 32% all around and a $150 ticket for illegal tint. To top it off, they take a razor and put a slice in the tint to make sure you get it changed.

Good points on the weather. My 17% on the sides can be tough at times if there is no available lighting on the roadways. I can still see out of them, but I do have to be a little more observant.

I know other state's law enforcement officers can stop you and hold you accountable to YOUR state's tint laws. But not to THEIR tint laws. They usually don't unless you were doing something else to warrant them stopping you. Even then, they probably won't mention it, UNLESS you give them attitude or reason.

If you're operating your vehicle in a safe manner with out of state plates, they usually disregard your % of tint.

Having said that, there's always that one out there that's "making a name for himself," or just being a "you-know-what!"

California is the same way as Alabama in that enforcement. They claim it as public road safety. That's why if you plan on doing tint like that, find out how the laws and enforcement are in other states that you plan on driving in.

Here's the best I could do to show the differences. It's pretty overcast today but you should be able to tell the differences:

Outside of the car:

35% on the windshield:

Showing 35% on the windshield and 20% on front passenger door:

Passenger side door 20%:

Passenger side door 20% and rear passenger door with 5%:

Rear passenger door with 5%:

It's the Viper brand, Ceramic, as I suspected. Reduces heat thru the windshiled approximately 80%, and UV rays approx. 99%.

My tint installer told me that they do quite a few front windshields in ceramic tint. Hardly noticable, there is an ever-so-faint hint that there may be some percentage of tint in front, but most vehicle owners can't tell. Hope this helps!

Also available in a variety of tint %'s. It's tough as nails. Someone breaking into a side window with Ceramic tint is going to have to work at it. While it keeps the glass from shattering all over the place, it also holds those pieces intact to discourage a would-be thief from repeatedly hitting the glass and drawing attention (in theory!).

Thanks, I'm going to look into this. I'm thinking if I used a noticeable tint in the back windows then the not quite so noticeable tint in the front would be even less noticeable by contrast. Probably wait until spring as heat is definitely not an issue right now.
