Default Best Ice Scraper for Elantra

I recently moved somewhere that gets cold and now I'm parking outside at night. I have never owned or used an ice scraper in my life. What do you guys recommend for this car with its large front and rear windows?

I like buying decent tools and want something that will last. I found
this this
online but there are only a few reviews and they are all positive so I suspect they may be fake.

I can't bring myself to use a scraper. I use this :
South Win, Ltd 113645 De-Icer And Bug Remover Windshield Washer Fluid - Amazon.com South Win, Ltd 113645 De-Icer And Bug Remover Windshield Washer Fluid - Amazon.com
<---- Buy it at any auto parts store or Target or something. It's like $2.50 and works like a charm. Dunno why it's so frackin' expensive there.

My dad uses this.
Amazon.com: Mallory 532 26" Snow Brush with Foam Grip: Automotive Amazon.com: Mallory 532 26" Snow Brush with Foam Grip: Automotive

That product works well if you have "frost" on the windshield. Ice is a different kind of animal. Not sure you Carolinians get the frequency or duration of ice/snow that your northern neighbors get.

Even out here in Oklahoma, I've seen ice on the windows 3/8" thick. Not much answer for that but HIGH defrost setting and lots of scraping. Yuk!

But that product is good. It's the only washer fluid I will use.

I suppose you could "warm some up" on the stove and pour it on the windshield. Then, stop by and get your newly cracked windshield replaced. Think of it as stimulating the local economy.

RRRROOFFLLL!! @ stimulating the economy. But, you're right. I am slightly spoiled when it comes to cold weather. There are maybe 5 days out of the year when I can't just start my car and drive off due to ice.

Well this morning a scraper was already necessary so I expect many many more days like today. Father in law had an old beat up scraper that we used on the wifes SUV but I like tools that work quickly and efficiently.

I definitely need some of that RainX stuff and I bookmarked that Mallory scraper to check later for later. I know we have lots of members here from cold places. I'm in the process of buying other winter gear too for my body.

They honestly don't appear to be faked reviews. Normally the first sign that authors have written shill/company or fake reviews will be they only have the one review and written no others. None of the reviews posted are single reviews. The 2nd sign of shilling is all 5-star reviews. Several of the reviewers (click the 'See all my reviews' link included after the author's name) have panned items with 1 & 2-star reviews.

Start your car early and turn on the front & rear defrost setting and once it warms up your windshield will be clear the back is a bit quicker, we are in the heart of the cold here lots of clothes, strong scraper, and a snow brush that's wide so it takes less time and that means you can get in the warm sooner!

It doesn't get too icy here most of the time, but there was one year when I had my Nissan Stanza, the whole car was encased in ice and I had to pick my way into the car.

I can actually remotely start the climate controls with my cell phone in my car now, so if I got engulfed in ice, I would just command the car to heat up with my cell phone before going to work or wherever.

Those things are everywhere in Quebec, but here in Ottawa you rarely see them. I'd like to get one for the Veracruz (the Elantra enjoys life inside our single-car garage), but I hate to be the only one on the block.

For all I know our local fascist doctrine - I mean municipal bylaws - don't even allow them...
