What car did your 2011/2012 Elantra Replace? I would like to see some Comparisons of the Elantra and your replaced vehicle. Things you noticed right away or things that the elantra maybe did not add up to.
I will start: My 2011 Elantra Limited W/Nav, Replaced a 2002 Elantra VE! I loved my older Elantra and when I saw the new one i HAD to get it! As my first new car purchase and only 2nd car ever, I was VERY impressed it improved on everything i "didn't like" about my old elantra. Handeling, Fuel Milaged, Comfort. LOOKS! One thing i noticed right away that i did not like was the "road noise" not wind noise and Visability out the rear window as well as when making a turn i find the front pillars on the windshield really get in my way. Other than that...Full improvement over the Older car. Now lets see some comparisons to different Brands :P Thanks |

Replaced 02 Focus ZX5, I drove that Focus for 8 years and loved it but it started nickel and diming me on repairs and wife was pregnant so we decided it was time for a safer more reliable car. The negatives Focus had rear drum brakes, 2 airbags, no traction or stability control, smaller interior, and it was very hard on tires. From a fun standpoint I had a Volant intake, Magnaflow exhaust and Ford Racing header on the Focus, wife thought it was a bit too loud though those parts greatly improved fuel economy for city driving.
I miss having a rear hatch but the Elantra has a huge trunk. The rear wiper was also a nice feature. |

My history:
2005 Mercury Montego* 1999 VW Passat Wagon* 1989 Mercury Cougar 1984 Honda Accord * = bought new The Montego was getting a bit tired, and I wanted better MPG, was going to have to replace tires, so figured a good time to change. I do miss the very high seats in the Montego (often head-level with small SUVs and crossovers). The trunk was huge -- could hold eight full bags of golf clubs. |
