H & R Lowering Spring

I wanted to dropped my 2012 Elantra GLS AT to 60/40 with H&R lowering springs and keep my OEM shocks. Does it make any difference or need to change also the shocks?? Help...

Are the 2011+Elantra springs available yet??

To answer your question, it is always best to install matched shocks/struts with lowering springs for the best ride quality/longevity.

Take a page out of crcendo's style book: go to 18" wheels. Why lower and deal with those headaches...unless you have more money than you know what to do with.

Look an his red Elantra! Pristine! Simple...and first class in appearance.

But, it's your bucks, your time, your re-engineering...I just don't envy the work and investments involved. And will the dealer warrant those mods if they fail, or if the car rides so low the bottom gets damaged?

Well still thinking, if some of our guys here did it already. Just wanted to know more about their Pros & Cons? / Its Ok for me to void the warranty.

You wont be voiding the warranty on the car just suspension components. If you can deal with that then go for it. Based on our discussion via PM it sounds like you have bad roads so this might not be the best idea. I know I would not want to be lowered, have already scraped the bottom of my front bumper several times in several places.

You seem to be very excited about your car and modding so my advice is to take a step back and think about where you want to go with it. My mods are mainly based on practical and functional but I have some appearance mods planned in my future too.

Glad to have your concerns, thanks a lot coz its crazy nowadays specially if you got this Elantra - its so exciting and fun specially you see some pic out there with nice and simple mods.... anyways.. thanks a lot- got to stick with it - and deal with bad roads daily...

No problem its easy to go overboard with ideas, sometimes I think if I had more money to play with I would do all this stuff to my car. Then I remember if I had more money I would have bought a different car.
