Totally. Plenty of non-US folks here. Mainly Canadians, but also some people from the Philippines and elsewhere.

Sorry that this isn't Elantra-related, but I just wanted to update you on my mom's accident. She posted this picture on Facebook today, along with details of the accident. I got pretty emotional and started crying when I saw this, partly because of anger at the person who caused it, but also just glad she is not only alive but OK. [Disclaimer: I left her comment unedited, so please no one take offense at the religious overtones.]

"God's grace and protection is amazing! I was coming home from work on I5 N Thur night 1/17/13 when suddenly I came on a car about to enter my lane going south! I was in the left lane, going about 62 mph, it was slightly foggy. Funny, in that split second, my brain said to me, "You must be in the wrong place!" then I was swerving hard to the left to miss this driver. I swerved hard right to recover but lost control of my car and went hurtling off the freeway into a tall cyclone fence which wrapped completely around me as the rear of my car swung round 180 degrees. The springy fence absorbed a lot of impact and kept me from going across another road. No one was hurt! People were right there calling 911, then EMT's cut the fence away, and a state trooper came.

A witness said it was an elderly couple, woman driving. At the end of the on-ramp she started turning south instead of merging north. They backed up onto the right shoulder and rolled down the window to ask, "Is this I5?". Another witness yelled , "Yes and you need to stay put! You just caused a wreck!" but she took off. (At least it was north this time!) No one saw the full license plate #. It was a newer silver Lincoln Town Car, partial license plate # 0658 according to one witness. The accident occurred at 6:58, so that would be something if it's true.

If I'd hit them we'd all have died and likely others injured. There'd have been a pileup. If I'd been in a different car, I might've flipped. There were no cars in the right lane, or trees where I went off. As it was, a car I'd put 216,000 miles on was totaled and the groceries I'd just bought were a little banged up. God is good! Even when everything seems to be going wrong, He's still good. The great God who made the whole universe cares about little tiny us!"

Wow!! I'm glad your mom is safe- that is one heck of a story! You can tell she has a love for that car, you must get that from her!

Thanks, she is a hospice nurse who pays home visits. So she not only drives to work, but uses the car much of the day FOR her work.

That's cool, my brother has been there; well, at least he's sailed through the canal.
