It's not that bad if you dress properly. Try working outside in that weather, I did it for almost 10yrs working in Construction as a heavy machine operator.

You're my hero! You and everyone else that deals with that environment. It's 23 degrees out here, today. And I'm fussing about that!

I did take Ingrid out a little while ago for a "spirited" road rally/slalom drive in some uncluttered parking lots. She handled well. Pleasently surprised me. I took her up to a reasonable speed and slammed onto the brakes. Now I understand that loud grinding noise the ABS makes that everyone talks about. She stopped rather well, IMO. I found her steering to be responsive, with respect to what I asks her to do in those conditions. I feel confident driving her in this mess.

I also found that, using common sense and awareness, Ingrid handled really well on our icy neighborhood streets. I imagine the handling might be worse on black ice. But ice-covered streets with about an inch of snow was a walk in the park.

I'm pleased!

Finally a few snow flurries, its been about 34 and raining all day while they are getting snow just North in Indiana. I'm in the office all day so hopefully its not that bad coming home. Got my new husky mats in last night, good timing.

Over here we're waiting for the 4"-6" of snow that's going to hit us in a few hours. Same storm you guys in the States were getting hit by. This will be our first snow fall of the season.

Currently -36C here but at least it's nice and sunny outside. Good day to stay inside and do some baking.

Not even an hour into this snow fall and already almost had a van skid into my drivers side door.

Whew!!!!! KEY word here: "almost!" That put a chill in my spine the first time I read it...I missed the word "almost."

What alternative does anyone have in that scenario? Just start the car up, say a prayer you make it thru the day untouched, I suppose. And drive like "the end of your world" is lurking around the next corner!

Default Bad Day For A Hyundai

This photo was in my local newspaper yesterday. Happened the day before Christmas and not far from where I live.

Single car collision with only the driver in the car. Wandered off roadway, overcorrected and lost control then bounced off a couple of trees. Driver was still conscious and was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening. Article said driver had to be cut out of the car.

Trees Always Win!

I think this is an Hyundai Accent.

Yeah that looks like an Accent. The safety features of modern cars are amazing. If this was an older vehicle the occupants would probably be dead.

Yeah, definitely an Accent. Glad the driver was OK!
