Now that I am into detailing Blanca and keeping her pristine, I really need my wallet glued shut. I want mud guards and weather tech mats!

Yeah, in more ways than one. A hundred bucks just for the front pair, plus shipping. Front and rear mats would have been $170 plus shipping; I decided against buying the rear mats because I never have anybody back there.

So there goes the hundred bucks I "saved" with the DIY mudguard install.

Still, I figure that the WT front floormats arguably are a "must have" in the snowbelt. Especially since the OEM driver's side front floormat (carpet style) looks to be wearing poorly. Seems to be shedding lots and lots of "fuzzies."

The KYB shock upgrade will probably be next, but I'll likely wait a couple of months depending on my budget. Especially since - lacking jackstands and workspace - I'll need to have a mechanic install them.

Actually Multnomah County has a time-lapse shot set up and you can watch live, by the day, week or month. It shocks me how many days will go by with no work going on whatsoever.

Not a bad idea, sir. I'd really like to contact ODOT and see if they might be willing to point it at downtown from the flagpoles on top of this bridge. I doubt they'd say yes, though.

Husky floor mats are on sale on Amazon now for $90 for the full set shipped. I think my next car accessory purchase may be vent visors. I like the look and function of these things.

I also need accessories for my body. Looking for a nice vest, weatherproof boots, and gloves. These are things you just don't need in TX.

Oh wow, really? So this is specifically of the Sellwood Bridge? Who woulda thunk it?

It hasn't snowed yet here in southern Quebec, strange it's north of NJ

can't wait for the snow to arrive here so I can play with my hand brake

I was wrong about one thing in a previous post: I thought I could put all four mudguards on in less than an hour, and it took me slightly longer than that. Had problems getting to a couple of the screws with even my smallest ratchet and a Phillips bit. Probably should have bought and used a right-angle screwdriver like the instructions said...

That said, the job certainly wasn't difficult enough to justify paying $105 to the dealer to put them on for me!

Also bit the bullet and ordered a set of form-fitted WeatherTech front floor mats for Raven this morning. Hopefully they'll get here before the first snows do...
I prefer to use the Robertson screws and a Robertson bit
