One quick question:
1. Why go 6030cs in front and 6032cf in rear? Is it not possible to go 6030cs front & rear? I believe they would fit but I'm curious if it is just not practical, or maybe overkill? I intend on powering them with an amp, as well as placing a sub (likely a 10-12' bazooka tube in the trunk). Thanks everyone! |

Looks great, bet it sounds even better! I just installed a dvc 10" 1200watt sun and now I need to add a 4 ch. amp. and a front component set and a 2 way set for back, is it difficult to cut out factory speaker so you can just put new ones in the housing wire up and and go. Any tips on crossover installation, does it have to stay close to speaker or can it go anywhere as long as the wires reach!

As for the wiring, pay attention to the polarity and directions. The crossover is clearly marked. As for the location, anywhere on the door will work fine. Just fine a suitable and stable location. I always try to find a spot nearby for the sake of keeping the wiring short and clean.

As much as I know they all use the same sized speakers. Do you have the seperate tweeters on the front doors? Only thing I am not aware of for the GL models.

Hey everyone, I am a proud new owner of a white Elantra Limited. I'm happy with everything except the sound. I was hoping some of you could give me some pointers on the matter. I don't play my music that loud but I do want my music to be accurate and clear.
I've been browsing through the thread and I had a couple of questions: 1. I was looking at the Polk DB6501 but noticed most people ended up going with the Infinity 6030cs. Do most people choose the Infinity 6030cs because it sounds good and is relatively easy to power even with a stock headunit? 2. I just got this Sony XDP-PK1000 DSP/Amp/Sub package because it was on sale, but there's literally no reviews on the product. a) In general are Sony amps and subs at least decent? This one is a 300W amp and a 12" closed sub. Or should I be looking elsewhere? Any good recommendations for a good sub and amp for around $250? b) The DSP unit comes with an amp that's rated at 45WX4 peak and 17WX4 RMS. Someone said the Elantra headunit itself already outputs around 25WX4 RMS so am I actually downgrading? And would 17W be sufficient to drive either the Polk or the Infinity speakers? Thanks for the help! |
