Our previous Elantra-2011 Limited used to blank out, but the new GT blanks out more and longer on the same routes.
Perhaps because antenna is mounted on glass??
Is it possible to have an inline antenna amplifier?

Now, everyone don't forget that solar flares also can cause disturbances/problems with your satellite radio. On the way home from Eugene in the Xterra not long ago, we had such a problem.

FREE XM NOTICE. Received mail from Sirius. It said they were offering free XM from 11/14 - 11/27 for all non-subscribers. You might want to check your radios.

Do the rest of the paying subscribers get a rebate for these 2 weeks? I think not!

Xm actually has a combination of satellite and land based towers to supplement the signal. Mine cuts out in spots where I would expect it to like under a bridge. Overall I think its a good service and Elantra gets a better signal than my stand alone xm unit in the suv.

Just like those free HBO/SHOWTIME preview weekends. I never get refunds. Just a marketing ploy to increase their paying customer base.

I rarely get bad reception. Even in the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel, underneath the St-Lawrence river, I don't loose the signal.

If you go through a long tunnel without loss of signal, that means they have satellite repeaters in the tunnel.

I thought there was some kind of buffer for the XM radio.

I have a 2013 Elantra GL & with the free service or paid I got the same reception, there's one or two spots in my area (Peterborough Ont. Canada near Toronto) that it cuts out! It cuts out when I get the corner intersection of a 3 Storey building GE I assume it's just how I'm positioned or something interfering from within the building? I only mention where I'm located because of repeater towers and Toronto is a major city with a Mecca of towers, whether it be cell or sat radio so my service shouldn't be that bad, I only signed up after 3 months of phone calls almost everyday from XM they gave me 6 months for $40cad of course!lol. I like having it as we only have a handfull of local stations even worth listening to, I may not sign up again but I'm really getting hooked on Shade 45 with tough call Tuesdays (Rude Jude) not for children!
