I just fixed gear box, it was need to replace the gasket inside leaking...My car 07 Suzuki GV with only 22K, so the warranty is also 5/100 and it was done by warranty. The second time when I do something major, the first was I broke 4WD system switching back/forth during my trip in winter from Boston to calgary, so they replaced it free of charge and total was $7K as far as I saw the bill. So I asked a FI guy how much extended warranty will cost for an extra 3 years (I am running out of warranty now), so for the next 3 years or 160K km in total I will need to pay ....guess...$3790!!!! and this is not from Suzuki, this is aftermarket one...I walked away...I used to have ex.w for our Toyota, paid on delivery new vehicle around $1200. Since day I toyota was giving problems, eventhough Boch-Toyota tried to ruin my credit etc,,,I refused to pay for service they didnt fix something on brand new vehicle....after 5 years they filed a complain with credit bureau..but point is when I was needed to fix something by this stupid ex.war...that company in IL refused to honour it and pay for it saying I must pay first and then they will reimburse it to me...so honestly I dont know what to do when you are out of warranty, besides selling/trading in...

Question for the folks that were offered to extend warranty by Hyundai after delivery, was the price different after x months than when you first took delivery?
I wonder if there is "window" after which the economics are no longer favorable to buy extended after delivery. |

Heard back from Hyundai Canada today. Didn't answer question re extending Audio portion of warranty but did confirm that warranty can be extended anytime in the first 36/60k km and then they sent me back to the business office of the dealer
![]() Checked with them and they said anytime in 36/60k as well and since price is quoted on website I assume it's the same no matter when. (assume being the magic word). The dealer did add an enticement, adding wheel and tire damage if I buy now. Not going to happen.

Yes, I did buy the extended warranty. For peace of mind. It was the platinum 10/100 on everything except brake pads and the like. Made sense for the price they gave me. $.14 a day? Heck yes!

For 0.14 cents a day, you stole that warranty! I'm jealous!

As an apartment dweller, I don't have the option to "fix it myself" so yes. I bought an extended warranty. I figure once it runs out, the car will have enough mileage on it, I'll be ready to trade it in.
