I was told that the platinum level extends the nav, proximity, etc... and other fancy electronics from 3 years to 7. I don't really see it being worth the money for 2 extra years on most things and the 4 extra years on electronics.

Might be another US/Canuck difference.

I have an email in to Hyundai to try and get a definitive answer as the dealer is sticking to 36/60 on Audio/GPS, etc.

Certainly adds value if it is a true BtoB here as well.

Mine's a 10/100 bumper-to-bumper as well. Not sure the electronics part of the warranty will still apply to my car as far as the sound system goes, since I did the Infinity speaker upgrade, but there's a lot of other chips and suchlike that can fail. (And depending on just how much money I feel like spending, further stereo upgrades may be in the cards anyway.)

When I bought my extended warranty, I was worried about things like the ECM, electronic stability/traction control and transmission electronics more than the radio, anyway.

Base warranties between Canada and US are pretty much the same other than the powertrain:

-Paint: 3 years/60 000km
-Battery: 2 years / 40,000 Km
-Adjustments: 1 year / 20,000 Km
Hyundai Warranty

USA:
5-YEAR/60,000-MILE NEW VEHICLE LIMITED WARRANTY, except:
-Radio and audio systems (i.e., radio, compact disc player, DVD player, navigation system, and Bluetooth®): 3 years/36,000 miles
-Paint: 3 years/36,000 miles
-Battery: 3 years/unlimited miles (100% covered 2 years/unlimited miles; after 2 years and within 3 years, 25% cost of battery and 100% labor cost covered)
-Air conditioner refrigerant charge: 1 year/unlimited miles
-Adjustments: 1 year/12,000 miles
-Wear items: 1 year/12,000 miles (e.g., belts, brake pads and linings, clutch linings, filters, wiper blades, bulbs, fuses)

One more question, just one more

Does one have to buy Hyundai Extended Warranty at time of vehicle purchase or just before main BtoB runs out? (Have conflicting reports).

I got the Ext Warranty (7 yrs/100,000 miles) Platinum Plan.
Mine came with a Money Back Refund if un-used.

I have actually received snail mail offers to purchase a Hyundai extended warranty 9-10 months after purchase. As has the wife on her 2012 Tucson. These offers, and we already have them. Obviously the left hand and right hand of Hyundai warranty division aren't connected to the same brain or same body! LOL

I should be receiving another one for my 2013 in about 4-5 months.

I agree with most here, I don't feel an extended warranty is worth it. I turned it down last week when I bought my 2013 elantra.

I decided to decline it too for now, including Diamond-Kote, Wheel protection, etc.

I may pick up Hyundai extended at a later date but for now I'm still hurting from taking a bath with Ford extended. No pro-rated cancellation of unused portion.

I am getting paint protection applied this weekend. Going by recommendation of family that works in a detail shop. Hopefully a good move
