I get severe wheel hop when flooring the car from a stop or from 10mph. Feels like the front suspension is going to rip off! I experienced this with my 2006 Pontiac GTO, which was always blamed on poor suspension or not wide enough wheels.
Anyone else get this? Do you get it less with different tires? I have the OEM Hanook, which suck. I think I started noticing it after the temps dropped, don't remember doing it in the summer.

Yeah its a winter thing, I dont get on mine till second gear cause it will hop pretty bad from a launch. These stock hancooks are terrible in the winter.

I agree. I'm looking for a decent set of winter tires/wheels on craigslist that will fit, but not having luck. I just take my wife's Durango if snow is in the forecast. These Hankooks are a death trap!

OMG the Hankooks are the worst tires I've ever driven on top of. I've had better tires on my old moped! I'll be getting summer tires for a different set of wheels, and then full on winter tires on my stock wheels.

When the ground is cold and the tires are cold a FWD with respectable power will wheel hop on a launch.
It's the nature of the beast and while different tires may help you will never tame the beast without significant suspensions changes that would convert your daily diver to a tack car.

Just got Michelin X-Ice snows for my se turbo. 4 tires, plain steel wheels and Tpms sensors. $1204 out the door at Belle Tire. Car handles like it has 4 wheel drive. very happy now. Stock Hahooks were like driving on ball bearings.

The reviews on Tirerack for the Hankooks are funny. Most of them are Sonata owners posting their near death experiences! I posted about leaving my car at work and hitching a ride with a co-worker. lol

Triple nickels for the win. They're good tires but can be noisy.
