Thought I would share what Hyundai stated on 4-2-12. This was posted on the Thin Tank.

Today I called in to Bluelink and did the remote start and it worked. So then I tried the app and remote start is now working from there. Anyone else see that? Hopefully I don't get anyone's hopes up if it was a fluke thing. |

2012 Sonata Turbo (build date 2/2/12) here and remote start works perfectly via the phone call method. Can't even get into the app on my phone as it freezes whenever I open it. I'm not happy about that.

So now it's only another 6 months till we see the remote start work via the app. That's the line they kept feeding me when I bought the car last Aug and every time I called about it.

My bluelink package was due to renew 2 days ago. I called them today to cancel and refund my subscription. I posted my actions and and explanation on the Think Tank.
It boils down to a broken promise that they obviously have working, just not for those who have been waiting the longest. Don't promote something you can't supply.

Not one person can remote start their car via the App, Android or iPhone one. Only vehicles made past late Sept, early Oct can do the phone call way. There are numerous posts on both the reg Sonata and Turbo Sonata that discuss this. I was told since day 1 owning it, last Aug, that it would be coming soon, less than 6 months. guess what, my 6 month trial ended close to 2 months ago, and I am unable to start it remotely by any method. I only wanted the essentials package because of that feature basically, the ECO is BS, Monthly reporting is WAY off. They launched it way to early IMO. I wish they would have teamed up with KIA so that there would be 2 companies funding it to make this system better. When I called to cancel my trail membership and for it not to auto-renewal, they were just like "Ok and have a good day". Most companies try and keep their customers, but not Bluelink apparently. I was very disappointed with bluelink.

I got my '12 Sonata Hybrid 17 days ago and the dealer said 2-3 weeks until remote start would work. I downloaded the app to iPhone and have been checking every couple days and would get a "vehicle not supported" message when trying to remote start. Today I got it to send command to vehicle and the phone said engine was on but it was not. After 3 attempts I gave up and figured I should wait. While typing this post I just tried and it worked! The parking lights were flashing while it was running and wonder if that feature can be changed?? Now I have to upgrade so I can keep this cool option!
