Default Front View Camera to avoid driving over curbs

Has anyone installed a front view camera for their HSH. We can't tell when to stop either 2-3 ft away or hear the sound of the car scrapping the curb or parking barrier.

Tom since I read your last post I have been stopping far away from curbs or any object that the car may get scratched with. I actually try to avoid parking with curbs and etc. I think it is cheaper and easier than the expense and installation of a front camera just to be extra careful.

Remember this high tech Citroen DS that could raise and lower the body with a hydrolic
lift. I wish Hyundai would incorporate it in the future so it could be about 2" above
ground above 30 mph and raise about 2" below 30 mph and 4" higher than it is now for ease of entry/exit.

Just buy some airbags! I'm sure some "tuner" shop near you would be happy to help you figure it out!

You should go check out the 2013 Land Cruiser just to see if you think the front camera is worth it. It has front and side view cameras for parking. It's weird to get used to, since it uses a fish eye lens, but you'll end up really close to the thing in front of you, if that's what you want.

I personally don't see the need unless I'm parallel parking, not for heading in to a curb. There's no need to go ALL the way up, if theres a little space, big deal. True car entusiats will know that you care about your car when they see that there's space. (Maybe that's just me).

What would be really nice this side of the ocean (like Japan and some more expensive models in Korea have) is the front mount side view cameras, for when you are turning into traffic from a side street and the one person decides to park RIGHT at the edge so that you can't see if there are cars coming.

You just need a slightly taller wheel/tire combo.

This is an audible alert, simpler and hopefully cheaper than a camera, no dash mods needed.

I ordered a front camera from dhgate.com Wholesale Car Front View Camera - Buy Cheap Car Front View Camera from Best Car Front View Camera Wholesalers | DHgate=

It's $28.26. It takes a couple of weeks to ship from China.

I hope it will work with my old wiring of my rear view camera that I removed from my previous car.

I will update the result on this.

I think the backup camera is spliced to your backup light wire. Where do you wire the front camera?

Alpine makes a real nice set. I bought the rear setup for a 370Z I had. It has 3 views, one of which the camera view is greater than 180 degrees. It also shows you the exact area that an object is moving towards you. With the rear module, there is a plug available for the front camera. You control which camera you want to view and what lens mode too. The front one works great when coming out of a blind alley and preventing curbing the front spoiler pulling into a parking space.

Below is a pic of the switch to change camera and camera view which you can mount where you want it.
