Default My hsh started to accellerate on its own.

Something weird happened yesterday while commuting home yesterday. I was in bumper to bumper traffic in town headed towards the freeway. Not even going 15MPH coasting, and my car began to accellerate. At first I was shocked and I looked at my dash and saw the instant gas mileage bars depleat. I hit the breaks to stop which it did. I am not sure why it accellerated though.

Has anyone experienced this before?

No, cruise control was off and wasn't even engages at the time. I was in heavy traffic on city streets.

it happens in ev when you take off, it doesn't accelerate, but it doesn't slow down as you lift the foot off, as it normally does with ice engine. combine that and possible slight slope, and you get unintended acc. nothing tap on brakes can't fix.

Alright so I expeirence the acceleration on its own again today. I was driving in a store parking lot. I stopped at stop sign, then I began to accellerate then
I let off the peddle, but the car then began to accellerate more and more, until I put my foot on the break.

I have not experienced since my previous experience in september.

You really need to file a complaint with NHTSA and get the car to the dealer. Unintended acceleration will get NHTSA's attention real quick.

Here's another thread on the same topic. Seems you are not the only one.

There was also another poster a while back by the screen name "Dashtrash78" who ended up having to go with the lemon law. He experienced multiple problems, and one was the Hybrid's unexplained activation of cruise control and sudden acceleration. He had some electrical issues with the car, as you would imagine, and ultimately went the Lemon Law route.
