I went ahead and installed 4300K HID bulbs from Xenonsupply. The install took about two hours and was pretty straightforward. I had a laptop with me to watch the video instructions as I did the install. I also used Eric's dust cover tip found here (not necessary, but makes for a cleaner install).

The results are unbelievable. I've driven cars with HID's before and was always impressed, but after driving the HSH for so long with halogens, the difference with HID's is striking. The road is MUCH brighter and the alignment is perfect, no one flashes brights at me.

I saw these Putco Pure halogen bulbs in a shop last week and was thinking of trying them. That shop actually screwed up the brakes on my wife's vehicle, so I am thinking of asking for some compensation - possibly in the form of two sets of these bulbs (lows and high/drl's). We shall see....
