Just returned from a 260 mile trip. I'm up to 45 now with 1350 miles.
FYI averaged 34.2 MPG on the trip. Mostly highway. Very windy. And of course in typical Wisconsin fashion, about 30 degrees. |

Don't worry about the EV cycle. All your energy comes from the gas engine (ICE). The battery is there to capture energy that would otherwise be wasted, like from breaking or running the ICE at a less efficient output. The car then decides when to use that captured energy to maximize MPH.
Normal operation for the car is that it tries to keep the battery level at 50%. That way it has room to capture energy if needed, and also to release it if needed. If it was all the way full, or all the way empty it could not do that. |
