Our neighbor's brick house across the street was on the market recently- A little over an acre, 4 bedroom, 3 bath, 2 car attached garage, taxes about $1100/year. On the market for $159,900 and they couldn't even sell it for that! They gave up and kept it.

I don't have a program to figure out gas mileage, I just have to take the car's word for it. So far we are getting 38.6 mpg- the car is about a month old :-)

I am actually running two fuel economy tracking systems right now. I use the Fuelly website, which generates the badge in my signature. It is free to sign up on their website, and you can add fuel-ups via a mobile-web page or SMS text.

I also have an Android app called "Car Maintenance Reminder" (real original name, huh!). It includes a fuel tracking system. I think I have the "pro" version which is normally paid, but I got it as a free app of the day a while back in the Amazon AppStore. Looks like the regular free version will do much the same if you are only tracking a single vehicle.

One dvantage of using both is that if you make a typo in one, it is easier to find and fix.

I use fuelly, although I keep a notebook in the car where I record data old school-pen and paper. I enter my info from the mobile web page as soon as I fill up.

With the Canadian winter here, my milage has just plummeted, but I didnt realize how bad it would be. My latest fill-up, according to fuelly was 25.3 mpg, with my normal sensible driving and a bit of hypermiling. My best fill-ups in the summer were around 40mpg. Thats about a 40% drop. Is that normal?

One of the confusing things about all this is that, whereas fuelly show 25.3 mpg (with 3% correction), my avg mpg on the car's computer shows 29.4 mpg. Thats almost a 25% inaccuracy, and pretty unacceptable in my books and its not the first time. Has anyone else experienced this much inaccuracy? Any solutions, suggestions?

So, as you can see from my signature line, I don't get superb mileage compared to some of the folks on these forums. However, I am still impressed with what this car can do. I got gas this morning on my way out of the neighborhood. Driving suburban streets for a few miles, and this is what I saw:



When I got to work, I was still over 50 Avg MPG indicated. Not bad!

Of course, it helps dramatically that when I reset the Avg MPG display, the engine was already hot. I am sure that by the time I get up to normal operating temp on the way home that the number will drop significantly.

nm7521 You are taking into account that Fuelly is U.S. gallon. You have 25.3 and in our gallon it would be 30.38 Much closer to the cars 29.4

41.3 average last fill up, old man winter has officially arrived so im expecting to take a mileage hit just as I did with my prior and any other vehicle ive owned, its called unfavorable conditions. Definitely not a deal breaker.

Well it was about 8.4l\100km on the computer and 9.3l\100 on Fuelly. This is just way off and unacceptable. Wondering if this is something the dealer can fix?

The performance of this car in the Ottawa winters has been a disappointment, but this only compounds it, since I cant even get an accurate reading, and when I do--it turns out to be much worse.

Love the car otherwise.
