Default Trip Comuter MPG Reset

On my 20121 Tucson, the MPG resets every time I get fuel so you can't average fuel over a long trip, is this normal?
Dealer says this is normal.
Seems ridiculous, more difficult to implement, more expensive and less functional.

That must be a mid-year revision?

Yea, I hate it when the manufacturers try to design things to do what they think you want.
I agree......it should be a resettable thing <like it is> but not automatically reset at fill-up.

I think all Hyundai's are that way.......both our Tucson & Elantra do the same.

Yeah, it's also the same with 2012 IX35.
Instead of MPG, we have litre/100KM average fuel consumption reading

It resets at fill-up.

Same weird default on my CEO's 2010 Tuck Limited...have never owned a car that re-set itself upon filling up. Someone was sleeping during that facet of programming...

It is the same with the 13 Santa Fe. Did a partial fill yesterday before my trip and the MPG reset itself.

I wonder why Hyundai chose to do it this way. If i want to reset it, I will do it myself. Maybe they do not want us to see what our cars average long term.

Am I not understanding something here? I have to manually reset mine every fill up.

I can't drive 1' (that's 1 foot) after refueling and it resets the MPG readout.
