I find that when you ask for something stupid (like a well chiled vodka martini) it will change to the worst AM radio station in a foreign language it can find! Thats what you get for smart mouthing your car!!!!

Really!!? I have spouted the theory that the older cars would accept a newer 2012-up radio. Now I may have to buy one and stick it in the sled, as my radio (although working fine) kinda irks me bc of the small display.
Charles I have to ask....what was the outcome? Any improvements (i know the BT stacks are newer) or drawbacks?
And most importantly, would a retrofitted 2011 still be compatible with your kick-a$$ upgrade?
Well I believe that I may have to scour some yards/eBay for a cheap 2012 radio. And I always forget about the Mute button on the radio since its usually up on 29 (I tend to play it LOUD)
Charles....you have earned my future business! Just don't close up shop until after Christmas OK
You can disable the XM channels. Another poster posted instructions awhile ago. Give it a look. If I remember correctly the procedure works on the Sonata as well. The instructions listed are for Elantras.
I just looked online at images of the 2013 GLS radio. I can't believe that Hyundai eliminated dedicated buttons on the face of the unit for FM/AM/XM. My 2011 GLS has dedicated buttons. Not having them would be very frustrating!
2012's are like that too. I don't have dedicated buttons.
