Default Keys locked in trunk! PLEASE HELP! I'm stranded!!!

Ok here's my story.

2013 Hyundai sonata

I wrecked my 2006 Subaru Sti so I got this as a rental.

I carelessly put something in the trunk and sent the keys with it, no big deal right? So I make a call and have someone come unlock the driver side door for $30, alarm goes off and I hit the trunk button......no luck? I keep hitting it and no luck?

So I pop the hood and disconnect the battery thinking it would reset the alarm but it didn't do any good.

It's impossible to go thru the back seat.

Please help!!!!!

Yeah sounds like your stuck in a pickle! I do wish there was a to gain access to the truck threw the back seats, like maybe the access hole in the arm rest like some other models have it... Only opinion I could think of is have someone get your spare keys.

One more item I don't like about the current generation of Sonatas. With the previous version one had to deliberately lock both seat backs and the trunk to secure access where only the electronic key would open the trunk. But I guess that cost too much.

Checked mine. The only way I see is to jump battery power to the trunk release solenoid at the latch thru the wiring harness somewhere under the door sill plates and carpeting?

Good luck, that seems nearly impossible

Call the rental company. This happens more than you know.

That's why I quickly edited after I checked mine. I'm looking at the wiring schematics now on Hyundai service website. I see a trunk release relay in IP junction block. Figuring out a fix now.

There is a red wire that runs from the IP junction block trunk release relay to the trunk release motor. Find the relay in the IP junction block then the red wire and jump battery power to it. The trunk will release. That's how I would do it if I had all day. Or call the rental company as mentioned above. They have a spare set of keys.

I have a 2013 Sonata (LTD proximity key). I also unsuccessfully just explored trying to gain entry through the cabin. Both split rear seats are latched at the top. They're both just slightly toward the car's center. The release is unfortunately in the trunk. Nothing at all inside the car. Nor entry through the center armrest. No entry through the gas door either. A very big MAYBE running a long screwdriver down from the top of the seat to unlatch. Frankly I'd go with Jimrinflorida's idea.
