Most of my driving in the winter is local. Over the past 6 years consumption has been very consistent when averaged out (see table). Also, I have lived in 3 different provinces during its life and still have no rust anywhere.
Note: the extreme figures are a result of not always filling up. It all averages out anyway so it doesn't matter.

This is the reason why I even looked at the Sonata in the first place. I've done research and there are a ton of problems with the Accord's touch screen and new electronics. I've also heard people having issues with the new CVT Trans.. Great responses everyeone, I love it! Anyone else?

I drive a 2012 SE Turbo and I get approx 31 miles per gallon. I love the car being a turbo - it has good power!

Do you have to pay a subscription for the navigation to work? Or is that just the live traffic, gas station, restaurant thing?

Please give me your opinions on your Sonata. Pros, cons, weird cliches, etc.... I have a few months to decide. Thanks for your help!
I would say that overall I really enjoy my purchase. Obviously there are certain things with it that I wish were better (seat comfort) but I also love the fact that I have people asking me, well only two different times in just over a month, but asking what brand of vehicle it is and thinking it is something much more expensive. No subscription for NAV and honestly the XM is kind of pointless to me since I just torrent the songs I want throw them on a tiny 16gb usb I bought for 12 dollars and I have hundreds of songs to choose from.

The backup camera is impossible to use at the start but give it some time and even now after 6 weeks I had to drive my dads truck to him at work and I literally could not back it up since it did not have a camera! It is a huge help. I agree with others on here about the audio. Even the Infinity system is not like the top quality in the world by any means however it is a noticeable improvement and I enjoy it. The fuel economy is hard to tell since it is a newer vehicle and I am driving in winter conditions. The heated seats are nice in the winter and the pano sunroof adds a touch of class. I also got my windows tinted 35% sides and 20% back which also makes it look solid.

Another criticism I have is that at times the build quality does not seem to match its level of luxury if that makes sense... That is more of an annoyance if anything simply because it looks awesome I wish it felt awesome as well.

If I had to do it again I would do the same thing. Any other questions just ask, sorry for the short story

You already have a smart phone right?? Why pay the extra expense for a nav system when you can bluetooth it from your phone? My phone reads and speaks through my car and can be reset on the fly. If you've got a good phone, even the voice commands help you more. You'd be better off saving the cash and buying the aftermarket unit that just replaces the stock radio system. You can get a back up cam too if you need/want it but if you need one, you shouldn't be driving anyway.

Actually I don't have a smartphone. I will have one in the near future. It just hasn't been a priority.
The main reasons I want the NAV package is that it comes with the 400 watt stereo and the panoramic sunroof. I'm getting the 2.4L most likely so I'd have to upgrade to that package to get the extras(sunroof/stereo_. The NAV and backup cam is just a bonus.

I'm not sure if it's an option in the States, but the Panoramic sunroof is standard in Canada for the Limited models, and that is a good and bad thing. I love the way it looks, but it definitely creaks significantly more than the Sonata with the single front sunroof.

In US the panoranic might be standard in the 2.0T... But you have to get the navi package to get it on the 2.4 I know that for sure.
In my experience it's hard to get around sunroof creaks. My wife has a 04 rav 4 with a sunroof and it has squeaked for a few years now. Price u pay to have a window on your roof I guess...

lmao that's true, but if you do get the panoramic sunroof, expect it to creak sooner than it would on the single sunroof. I have sat in a forum member's, g0lden's, car, a 2011 2.0T Limited with a single sunroof and I didn't hear any creaks. But my 2012 has started creaking maybe half a year after I got the car.

And I would suggest you to ask your dealers or wait to see if the new Sonatas in the States will be getting the GoogleMaps API. That'll be much better than the current maps that they're using. Unfortunately for us Canadians who don't have BlueLink or UVO, we'll probably never get them.

FWIW my 2009 Venza with the pano roof has been solid. No noise.
