Default Harness for Homelink Mirror

I have a 2013 SE that came with the bluelink mirror without homelink (mine just has the 3 blue link buttons and the manual adjust). I just received a homelink auto-dimming mirror from a seller on eBay that was pulled from a 2013 sonata. It did not come with any wire harness. I was hoping since mine was already wired for blue link, I could just use that same connection. I switched out the mirrors and the connector plugged in fine, but only the compass and auto-dimming work. Blue link seems to do nothing and I can't programm the home link garage buttons.

I honestly don't care about blue link, but one of the things I really wanted with this mirror was the garage buttons. I look closer and noticed that it looks like my old mirror only has like 4 pins and 3 wires going out of it and the new mirror has closer to 8 or 9 pins.

Is it likely that the home link buttons just aren't getting power? What is the easiest way to fix this? I found this harness on eBay:

Gentex Homelink or HL Compass Mirror Wiring Harness Kit "for 10 Pin Mirror Plug" | eBay

Would that solve it? I don't mind running a new wire and wiring it in if needed. I only paid $81 for the mirror, so even if there is another $30 or so for a harness, I still think I got a good deal.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks, I read through it again. It looks like it confirms that I need some extra wiring to make it work, but no one seemed to know how to wire it or where to get the harness. I'll try calling my dealer's parts department and see if they can just sell me the harness. If anyone know a pin out or has other ideas, let me know

I added the Homelink mirror to my GLS. As shown in the DIY thread above, It only uses three wires; ground, constant power, and switched power.
I have to ask; do you have the instructions on programming it? Could it be that that power isn't the issue?

I tried programming it with the instructions in the manual. The light would never flash red. My thought is that it is missing power for the home link because I don't have the correct wire harness. My situation is like the person around page 5 of that forum, the compass works and the auto dim works.

I think I have to either get a different harness or try to figure out how to wire in the extra power

If you look at the schematic on the last page (15 of 15) of the OEM instructions that come with P/N 3Q062-ADU00 kit (get it from www.hyundaitechinfo.com if needed), there is one wire's connection that must be disconnected somehow. Mazda, unlike Hyundai, sells their mirror harnesses separate from the Homelink mirrors. I installed the very mirror you're trying to use in my 2012 Sonata SE by purchasing Mazda P/N 000-8C-L07. You must mutulate the Mazda connector to extract one of the wires with its ferrule intact and undamaged. Then you slip this into the connector of your existing roof harness where there isn't one presently (refer to aforementioned schematic, think its poisition No. 6 for switched power) and splice into the wiring going to your roof console. I installed insulated blade connectors on (two males and one female as I recall) so that I could reinstall the original non-Homelink mirror with the correct original "feeds" if necessary. Unfortunately Hyundai could make this process a whole lot easier if they sold harness P/N 60540-26AAA by itself outside of the kit but sadly they don't. PM if you need to and I will try to answer any questions you may have but I'm confident you can do it if you take your time and follow the schematic. Good luck!

Big thanks to ComicOzzie! I got the manual, mine was missing pin 10, which wires into the red wire (always on). I was able to get some T connectors and an assorted box of harness plugs at Autozone and make my own wire. I added it in and now homelink and blue connect work great! Thanks so much for the input!

Glad to be of service sir.

I'm hoping to do a similar transplant in my 2013 Sonata Limited 2.0T with the passenger's side power seat mechanism (and rightside trim panel w/switches of that same seat) from an Optima SXL someday. My guess is Hyundai will change the bodystyle again before they offer a like passenger's side seat.

Anyhow, enjoy that new mirror and pat yourself on the back for a job well done!
