Yeah, I'd rather just use the key and open the door.

Guys in the truck community "shave" door handles ( not just them ) and have no handles on the outside of the truck. Actuator pops the door open.

Maybe someone rented the car and need a Sonata door lock, so they stole it and replaced it with the handle. LMAO.

The problem with this is that the alarm will sound when you open the trunk with a key. What was Hyundai thinking when they did this. Was it too expensive to tie this lock into the alarm cutoff.

It could be worse. On Ford Expeditions, you can open the power liftgate from the remote. Except that the liftgate function doesn't deactivate the alarm. Can't tell you how many times I have set of the alarm on my wife's Expedition by using the freaking key fob!

Shouldn't go off if the battery is so dead you can't unlock the door...
