If your gonna leave again for awhile, invest in a trickle charger.

If you can't leave it on a charger you could pull the "Memory Fuse". This will disconnect the devices that drain the battery even when the car is shut off. It is described in the manual under maintenance, in my PDF copy it is on page 7-52.

Here is a vid showing it's removal:

Are you sure? I have a 2013 GLS and don't even carry my fob, I open my door with a key all the time. Too many keys on my key chain and the fob makes a too large lump in my pocket.

Isn't there a battery cut off switch? I haven't checked my sonata but I know my Elantra has one on the fuse panel to the left of the steering wheel. It is a little on/off switch that cuts the power to the electrical components. They use it during shipment so that batteries don't die due to vampire suckage.

Yep, in the same place (interior fuse panel) there is a plastic carrier that couples the ROOM/LP and AUDIO fuses. Pull it out until the carrier won't pull any further. The fuses aren't making contact, and they won't fall out either. A switch is a nicer setup.

This is getting more exciting than most Threads. So you're saying that the Lock in Post #9 at the Rear of the Door HANDLE is NOT on your GLS?

Not expecting much I Googled a picture of a 2012 GLS and swear I see (1) small "niche" on the Rear of the Door Handle - which should be a Key Lock (ie) post #9 pic.
Although I can't believe you'd miss it and you've stated "nothing on the door", I'd feel better if you post "I have a "plain" door Handle on my car.

Would that be the keyless entry feature or when they say keyless entry do they just mean you get the remote to unlock your doors and trunk

Better yet, post a pic of the driver's side of the car. I suppose the factory could have installed the wrong handle assembly on the driver's door (one without a key hole) but it would be great to see it!
