Default Headlight Painting

Has anyone here taken apart their headlight housings to paint them? I'd like to do that and paint everything but the reflectors for a blacked out look. I was just wondering what a good product to use would be. I have a can of Plasti-Dip, but wasn't sure how durable that would be. I'd like to paint these once, and never have to take them apart again. I wasn't sure if heat would be a concern--I'm still using the standard bulbs. Any thoughts?

I wouldn't use plastidip. Use paint.
