Default Unavi pas module

I am the owner of a new 2013 Hyundai Sonata Limited W/O Nav i purchased the UNAVI X2 from Carlight trends.com before I signed on to this forum to get more information about it. I received it and will be installing it myself, The unit and bacckup camera arre not a problem but i also purchase the PAS module that came with no instruction to install on how it is to be installed. I checked with the company I purchased it from and they didn't either. If anyone has any advise could you please let me know.

Does Unavi say somewhere that their units are for professional installation only? If it isn't specified then I'd say they owe you some customer support. Maybe you could write a couple well worded emails to the company and see if you get better results?
I can guarantee you that Charles Jean of Compass-Nav would be quick to help you through any problems you might have if you had purchased his nav system.
I hope you can get this resolved.

Exclamation Unavi installation

I finally had the time to do the installation the Backup camera I did first with no real problems except running the cable to the front but when I installed the unit in the dash it did not work so I was at a lost because I followed all the directions as listed. I rebooted the control box a number of times with no results, rechecked the connects still no results. the leds lights on the circuit board of the trip interface board are flashing showing a connection. I then connected the 3 pin power connectors together which are only for for the 7in LCD models and I was able to get the navagation screen to signin and updated software so the monitor is working I believe it is the smart cable that connects from the radio to the monitor is the fault because when I received it in the box it appeared to have been used also there were two extra sets of cables so someone was in the box before. I called the dealer on this and he said he would check on this after the weekend so I am stuck with an open dash until I can finish the install. Has anyone else encountered this problem before?

Our Tech Dept. will be in contact with you tomorrow (Monday the 21st) we do prefer that our products to be professionally installed, that being said a DIY is not uncommon but we do prefer that our product be professionally installed. I have forwarded your issue to our techs.

Hi there, I am sorry you are having issues and we will make sure we get them resolved, First our business hours are m-f 9-5, I will sometimes be on the forums on the weekend but not always.

We need to ask you to call tech support at 855-558-6284 so we can determine what is the problem you are having, it is possible there is a defective cable, but i can assure you no product is used, we do a full update prior to shipping so there is no need to update, also the extra cable you are seeing are most likely for the outside temp retention, We can make sure you have the correct set hooked up. But the first thing is to check and see if you get radio sound and control through steering wheel controls, if not you may have blown a fuse.
Remember our product is not meant to be a DIY install so it will not have retail packaging, we offer it to certain individuals for DIY if they feel they can handle it. I do all our installs for our local dealers and I have 0 problems on install, I have installed several hundred since April of last year and have only 3 units actually fail.

Please give us a call i'm sure its a simple issue and if there are defective parts we will make sure we get the replacements to you quickly to get you up and running, but please be aware that if you are posting a thread on the weekend for a response we normally wont see it till Monday.

Thank you very much for purchasing our product and we will be happy to assist you, please call us at your convenience, We will need you to be in your vehicle so we can trouble shoot a few things.

Thanks
Rob
