Sure everybody's opinion matters. To who is the question. Not having a YF should make a difference.

A warranty is only as good as the service available in your area. If you have to do the dance to get basic warranty stuff repaired on your car what good is it?
Ford has made leaps and bounds. Yes, they still have trouble but if I know I have an issue and it gets covered versus every song and dance to deny coverage, where do you think Ill go? And people mention startup problems with the new Fusion; how about that left hand lean on the early models of Sonata? Problems happen on every platform regardless of manufacturer. We have Fords in the family and they do very well. We have a 2002 Focus with 138xxx miles on it that has less rattles than my 2011 with 17K miles. And it doesnt have moisture issues either. Sonata has great styling but I am less than convinced that it will go 100K without me losing my mind and getting rid of it. You will always have people that are stuck on the mid eighties impression of American car makers. Some of them still deserve it. Others are making and effort to put out a decent product. My personal non-fact based prefference would be Ford>>Chrysler/Dodge>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>GM.

Thank you Bearcats, I had to do the dance at about 11,000kms to get my transmission changed, danced all the way to another dealer. I HATED that and I was also losing my mind so I share your sentiment about warranties and also about reaching 100K.
