Since April 2012, we almost put 15,000 miles on the Silver Bullet.... Are we hurting her with too many miles?
![]() It lasted us 370 miles today on a half tankful stuck in the infamous LA traffic and fighting the little mountain between LA and Central Valley. ![]() It was about 32 MPG. Not bad, eh? |

Wow guys...I've done 18k in eleven months and I thought I drove a lot!
![]() My 2004 Santa Fe saw 145,700 miles in a little less than six years and that included a cross-country run.

I don't think there is a finite number of miles that would be considered too many to put on a car. Cars are meant to be driven. You'll just be doing more oil changes, buying more tires and filling up the gas tank more often. Wear parts will need to be replaced more often. Too many variables to consider. Cars don't have a finite lifespan. It depends how they're used. A run of the mill family sedan should last 10 years, whereas a police car will only last about 5-6 years.
