Default $4. Chevron Techron Fuel System Cleaner 12oz.

Pep Boys is selling the same product as the Hyundai labeled cleaner they sell at the dealership. No, it doesn't clean the intake valves, and if you use top-tier gasoline you might not be interested . It's a very good price if you care to use it. I use it every time I change the oil. I don't know how long the sale lasts.

Can't hurt for that price. I usually put it in every 10k miles.

There are two different Techron products available. You want the Techron concentrate. If thats the one for $4 buy a few bottles.

I'd suggest using it on the last fillup before you change the oil rather than adding it at the time of the oil change. That way if it gets into the oil it will be removed right away and you won't have any long-term dilution.

I have seen this stated before but can someone explain how a gas additive added to a fuel tank can get into oil? I don't understand this?

The engine burns gas.

The fuel is sprayed into the cylinder. Some of it may find its way into the oil, this may be more likely with direct injection. Therefore if you are adding an additional solvent additive into the fuel there is the possibility of it getting into the oil. The injection cleaners have their use and can be helpful under the right circumstances, but they have to be used sparingly and properly.
