That's a great attitude to have. Let us know how that works out for you.

BULL if that's the case you can hide a tank in a box trunk, someone can have a bomb in there trunk. And if it's a worry of safety why pull them over ??? I mean you run a licence plate and everything is good why pull them over just for tints -.-.

If someone wants to shoot a cop then a thin piece of tinted plastic won't be the deciding factor.

Dude, you're free to break whatever laws you want as long as it doesn't endanger me, mine or children I honestly don't care. I applied the 'It's only illegal if I get caught' thinking many a time in my youth.

But you can bet your bippy that any accident you get in no matter who's at fault someone's going to point at your illegal tint and claim it as a factor in the accident and sure you can probably beat it... a few hundred dollars for a lawyer. Several days lost wages. The fine for the tint. Etc. etc.

They're your risks to take. I just hope you don't hurt anyone else while taking them.

No, but SEEING the gun or suspicious movement/behavior is a factor.

I'm going to have to disagree. If it was an issue then all vehicles would have the same level of tint limits. Trucks and cars would all have 35% all around. In some states trucks can have limo behind the driver. Some states allow limo behind the driver on cars. I guess no one ever shoots from the back seats.

Limo= 5-20%

I think reality needs to come into play. Yes, you are free to do as you please. But, understand, there are certain things that call attention to you, quite unnecessarily. This is just one, of many, that will cause you to arouse the suspicion/attention of L.E.O.'s. You have to balance out whether it is worth that hassle, or not. For me, at my age, definitely not. I've got more important things in my life than to worry about whether or not today's going to be the day that someone decided to pull me over for this, just to add the points onto my license (which I haven't had any since 1986), as well as the additional insurance costs associated with those points.

From a few close relatives who are in the know on this subject. few years ago, the 'LEO's' didn't care much about tint. nowadays...it's a concern on all their minds..everytime they approach a vehicle. What robspeed did...is what they prefer and feel comfortable with. if they can't see in your car...and you are in there...they will approach with extreme caution. i'd rather not have a cop approaching my car with gun unclipped, more than likely in his hand and feeling nervous while coming up to a complete stranger to him.

like timmy said....i'm too old to deal with the hassle....35% on the sides is legal...they can see me...and all is well.

the experience part is...i have a cousin, two uncles, and my father that were all officers in the recent past.

I have been put tints on my cars since i was 17 now 23 I have 4 accidents one was a 50/50 all others 100% the other persons fault. they all tried to prove the tints was a factor, but lost in the end without me having to miss a day of school/work or spent more then .80 cents for a stamp to send in evidence. The great thing about being young is everyone thinks your some dumb kid.

It doesn't take much to hide a gun in a car. it's more just a quick money ticket then anything. because there are a lot of cars form factory that you can.t see in it as your walking up to it. the new landrover with the small windows, the new sprinter trucks, most family vans and trucks are pre-tinted.
