Windshield tint ftw!!! My brothers car > not a Sonata, but so sexy! Can you post a pic of your Sonata with the windshield tint?
35% windshield, 5% rear windshield, 15% on the sides

My boss has his tinted in the front, A few years ago he was pulled over by FHP and they made him pull it off right then and there. Then they called a tow truck, citing the front windshield was unsafe with the haze from the glue left over. Each city in each state has it's own consequences.

Yep the whole windshield. At first I was super nervous about it (yes it is illegal in Indiana), but even the cop who pulled me over was clueless about it, I guess focussing on the back half of the car. It is 50% on the entire windshield and a 35% band across the top. I guess that makes the top band a 15%? I LOVE having the (full) windshield tinted. No UV penetration and it stays much much cooler in the summer. Having the darker band at the top also helps disguise that the windsheild is tinted at all. It also *does* help to be respectful to the cop. If I hadn't rolled all the windows down, I think my chances of getting a tint ticket would be much, much higher, especially due to the way the law is written in Indiana.

It is actually very very very NICE. It does not affect night driving at all (I have 55w HIDs). If anything it is safer since oncoming glare is cut quite a bit.

Most laws regulating tint is 2 fold. One is the point of view on safety. The other is for recognition, meaning that a LEO can see how many are inside and have a chance to see if a stop is going south. It's possible the LEO that stopped you is aware of the tint regulations but let it slide since you lowered the windows, making it possible for him to approach with less risk.

I couldn't drive with the windshield tinted. I have enough trouble making sure I don't whack the mailbox on the way out of the driveway at night with the mild tint in the back of my Accent.

And sorry, but believing that a fully tinted windshield has no impact on your night vision is crazy. It literally has to whether you believe it does or not. Good luck with it.

Driving with a tinted windshield at night is sort of like driving with sun glasses during the day.

^^ cops aren't too worried about pulling over undercover cops then having a gun pulled on them
