LOOKING FOR HELP- Xenon HID 2011 Sonata
Hello new to the forums, I have a 2011 Sonata GLS, I want to install HID's never done it before but think I can do it. I've been reading up on them and watching how to videos on YouTube. Seems not to difficult. My only problem is cant find them, or the right kit (don't know exactly what kit or what I need) From my research I think I want the 8000k (it's like a light blue) Looking on eBay I think I can get them for around 85$ Thank you MUCH! Looking forward to the replies Plasti dipped the factory wheels and I love it |

5000K starts greenish during warm up then goes white, 6000K starts light blue then goes white with hint of blue, 8000K starts darker blue/purple and then light blue/purple after warm up.
I have 5000K low beams and they are white and 6000K fogs and they are light blue after warm up. For fogs you can cut costs and no big deal, but when you do the low beams you should stick with reputable brands.

I have 800K low beam and 3000K fog lights.
The low beams were installed with a relay harness and both headlightsmare running off of the driver side Factory harness, my fogs are also installed via a relay harness. i homestly cannot explain much on the fog install since I had one of my techs wire them up. |

I just got my XS 6000K working last night. Don't go 8000k. I think the 6000k are a little blue and will be buying the 4300K bulbs for $45 so I can compare. They make the Sonata look 100x better at night!

The harness protects you from a potentially expensive repair. It allows you to power the HID directly from the battery. The circuitry that powers the stock lights was not designed to provide the current required by a HID and frequently fails causing damage. There are several threads on this if you care to search.
It also allows you to restore your car to original condition later if you so desire. Here is a vendor that supports this forum and has a pretty decent kit that has been used successfully by forum members and the one I plan to use: HID Kits Xenon Lights & LEDs | Xenon Supply |

Nope. DRLs use the high beam bulb. Still works like normal.
You can replace high beam bulb with a LED bulb to give it a HID look but worthless as high beam at night. Or get sharkracing DRL delete kit and get their DRL LED kit that goes above figs.
