To turn it off, remove your foot from the brake pedal. |

No switch.
Park brake on and gear selector in park. Also turn the steering wheel if park next to a curb so the tire is pointing into the curb, it helps

Im talkin about hill hold so the car doesn't roll back on very steep inclines when going from brake to gas. Normally you'd just hold the brake down while giving gas and releasing . My car used to nudge just a smidgen back then stop now it doesn't seem to be working any more. |

I am not quite sure about this, but I thought I read something about the torque converter on the sonata has electronics involved. I will have to go to the HMA Service site and read up on it. Sent from my iPhone using Autoguide.com App

No hill hold. My Sonata will readily roll back on steep inclines. There is a stop sign at the top of a steep incline on my daily commute. People behind me like to tuck right up against me in traffic at that stop sign. I hate when they do that...I have to quickly go from brake to gas to prevent from rolling back into them.
Many squealing take-offs at that intersection. Some people don't even stop and just run right through it.

Another option is the 2 foot technique - hold the brake with the left foot while giving it gas with the right, at 1400 rpm, gradually release the brake, you should have enough power to overcome the hill - and no squealing tires.
